Earlier this week, some of our team from Stockport Sports Village visited the Devonshire Unit in Offerton, a place close to our hearts as it’s where our colleague Mike spent time earlier this year. As part of our fundraising efforts, members of the Life Leisure team completed an incredible 15-mile walk from Life Leisure Houldsworth Village to Emirates Old Trafford and back again, raising nearly £3,000 for Salford Care Organisation and The Devonshire Unit at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust! The Devonshire Unit team shared how the funds will make a real difference. They plan to renovate their on-site flat, providing a comfortable space for residents who live alone to stay before being discharged. They also aim to start a new gardening club for their residents to enjoy 🌱. A huge thank you to everyone who supported this effort, together we’re making a difference in our community!

Today we opened our first Community Sensory Garden at Life Leisure Hazel Grove 🌿🌻 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this morning. We were thrilled to see so many smiling faces exploring the garden, connecting with one another, and celebrating this wonderful new space.  This sensory garden was created with our community in mind – a vibrant space where you can relax, connect, and enjoy the beauty of nature. If you couldn’t make it to the opening, don’t worry! The garden is now officially open to the public, and we’d love for you to visit and experience it for yourself. A special thank you to Councillor Helen Foster-Grime for cutting the ribbon and helping us mark the beginning of this exciting journey. We’d also like to take a moment to recognise Hannah Bowler, the incredible project lead, for bringing this vision to life. Her dedication and hard work have transformed an idea into a reality that will benefit our community for years to come.

Our sixth gym refurbishment was completed just before Christmas at our Cheadle hub, and we're thrilled with the results! It's another fantastic upgrade for our members, featuring iFIT interactive cardio equipment, Matrix Fitness UK strength machines, Precor equipment, and more. In addition, our Cheadle hub recently launched the first Reformer360 classes at Life Leisure, featuring brand-new Total Gym beds supplied by Ethics Leisure. An incredible two weeks for Stockport Metro! 🏆 Despite facing some challenges, including having 5 swimmers out, our amazing team delivered an outstanding performance in the North West Arena League competition this weekend. We’re incredibly proud to share that Stockport Metro came second, finishing just one point behind the winners! It was a day full of grit, determination, and truly inspiring team spirit. Every swimmer gave it their all, and the resilience shown by the squad has been nothing short of exceptional. This result highlights the strength, talent, and unity of the team. A huge shout-out to all the swimmers, coaches, and supporters for their dedication and energy—your hard work continues to shine through 🌟 The future is bright, and we can’t wait for what’s next! 🏊♀️✨

This past weekend, we were proud to reopen the newly refurbished gym at Life Leisure Houldsworth Village. It was a pleasure to welcome so many members back to experience the upgraded facilities and enhanced training environment. The refurbishment features a cutting-edge HYROX training zone, complete with new assault runners for high-performance conditioning. Members can also enjoy a dedicated GLUTEBUILDER circuit with four specialised machines, as well as a newly equipped strength training area, which includes machines, cables, free weights, and lifting platforms. Additionally, the gym now offers interactive iFIT bikes and treadmills providing immersive virtual workouts from locations around the world. We’re excited to keep the momentum going with the upcoming gym refurbishment at Life Leisure Cheadle, reopening on Saturday 21st December!
