Our members' views wanted: please read and share this SRA consultation called 'Client money in legal services - safeguarding consumers and providing redress’ with relevant colleagues in your place of work and let us have your feedback. Your views matter. Our Immediate Past President Gaynor Williams explains “They are all important consultations, however, the first one, the model of Solicitors holding client money, is particularly important and the Society's Regulatory Committee thought it would be helpful to get views, feedback and responses from a wide range of firms in different practice areas. The reason being that different sizes and practice specialisms will have different views, eg conveyancers will have a different view to civil litigators or small firms that don’t hold much money”. Our Regulatory Committee asks that you email in with answers to any of the questions (you don't have to answer all the questions) to committees@liverpoollawsociety.org.uk before close of business 10 January 2025. As the term of our current President Gaynor Williams comes to an end, we would like to say thank you to those who donated to her chosen charity of the year, the BYRNE AVENUE TRUST. The charity is based in Rock Ferry, Wirral, and is a venue undergoing restoration. It supports many community groups and acts as a social hub in the area. Through donations via a raffle at the inaugural Golf Tournament in June and donations from various speakers from our programme of legal training events who directed their speaker's fee to this charity, the total raised for Byrne Avenue Baths is £1,740.
