With the upcoming General Election on 4th July, we are publishing our manifesto, setting out our recommendations for how the next UK Government can support our work in locating the missing and naming the unidentified. We have four key asks for the incoming Government that we believe will have a huge impact on the work we do here at Locate International. Learn more about our manifesto here: https://lnkd.in/e3q5V2EF

Locate International works in collaboration with Universities, Law Enforcement Agencies and families of missing people
About us
Locate International is the largest entirely volunteer led UK charity providing specialist services in long-term missing and unidentified people investigations. There are over 11,000 people in the UK missing for more than a year and nearly 1,000 who remain unidentified after death. Our mission is to ensure that all that can be done is done in every case. We do this by building teams made up of specialists from different disciplines and volunteers from local communities. The teams review the cases to ensure that all that can reasonably be done, has and is being done. Our service is carried out at no cost to families. We consider unsolved cases collectively to better understand the issues, commonalities and how missing person investigations can be advanced. We operate in partnership with Universities, Law Enforcement Agencies, the Police and the families of those missing.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteer Angela, who recently gave a heartfelt talk about Locate International to the Sutton Benger Over 60s Club. With around 40 attendees, Angela's words not only raised awareness about our mission but also inspired a generous donation of £75 from the group, plus an additional £10 from one kind member. Support like this helps us continue our vital work. Thank you, Sutton Benger, for your kindness and generosity. If you’d be interested in hearing about our work at your event, group, or meeting, then please email media@locate.international #VolunteerSpotlight #VolunteersMatter #ThankYou #CommunitySupport

We’re proud of volunteers Jess Halsey ACA and Roland Hughes who recently spoke on the RCNi :: Nursing Standard podcast about how nurses can help solve cold cases of missing and unidentified people. They shared insights into two key cases: ✔️ The skeletal remains of a man found in Deepdene Woods, Surrey, in 1990, still waiting to be identified. ✔️ The story of a woman who tragically passed outside St Helier Hospital in 2006, her name unknown. Their conversation underscores the vital role healthcare professionals can play in these investigations. Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/eUpiqUGn #Nursing #ColdCases #NursingStandard
