Following an All-Party Parliamentary Group Inquiry, Missing People worked with national policing, health and care agencies to publish ‘The multi-agency response for adults missing from health and care settings – A national framework for England’. Join us on Thursday January 9th, from 11 am to 12:00 pm for a free webinar presented by the Team at Missing People to hear about the framework, to talk through barriers and challenges you are facing, and to discuss how we can improve responses to adults missing from health and care settings in the future. Recently, Missing People attended the International Conference on Missing People, United by Hope, held in Seville, Spain. We attended alongside Pascale Waschnig (GMBPsS), who has lived experience of missing and is also an academic doing research on the issue. People from Black communities are at increased risk of going missing, are more likely to stay missing for longer, and are less likely to be identified as at risk. We have also heard from families that they have face discrimination from the services that are supposed to support them, including the police. It is vital that complaints about discrimination are taken seriously and are used to drive change. We really welcome this report from the IOPC on race discrimination, and the accompanying guidance on how discrimination complaints should be handled. 

On the 25th November, The Children's Society will be hosting a workshop introducing the updated 'Child Exploitation and Abuse: an appropriate language guide.' This workshop gives an overview of the guide and resources, so professionals feel confident in challenging victim blaming language and are able to better support victims and survivors.
