Sarah will cover the south of the UK providing onsite training and guidance to ensure supplier compliance for our customers. With over 8 years in retail management working for ALDI, M&S and Sainsbury, Sarah has gained a wealth of experience dealing with all aspects of business including people management, KPI’s, risk and compliance. As part of our continuous improvement campaign and to increase HSHE standards throughout all depot locations we have recently introduced the compulsory use of bump caps. To date the launch of the bump caps has been a success. employees, agency workers and drivers attending site have welcomed the new addition to their PPE uniform and fully appreciate that the bump caps have been provided to always ensure their safety whilst on site. Congratulations to Keith Speakman and all the team at Logtek Ltd Crewe for a fantastic result in our BRCGS Standards for storage and distribution, achieving AA grade (again). ♻ A LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT EXAMPLE FOR OUR MAGNUM OPTIMUM Schoeller Allibert worked with Ecochain to develop life cycle assessments comparing our containers with single-use alternatives in typical situations. It is important to note that any LCA depends on the parameters chosen, such as transportation distance, payloads, and end-of-life scenarios. Our Magnum Optimum® foldable large container was compared with the alternative of using wooden pallets and cardboard boxes, focusing on the emissions produced over a life cycle of ten years in a typical use-case.  The assessment found that even though the Magnum Optimum® scenario emits about 20% more carbon in year one (due to the more carbon- intensive production of the reusable packaging), this scenario already performs better from year two onwards, producing less carbon emissions than wooden pallets and cardboard.
