We deeply appreciate the warm reception and extend a special thanks to the host for honouring Achim’s legacy in the opening remarks of the program.

Students supported by Lomar’s Achim Boehme Scholarships programme, which pays tribute to our late CEO, will join maritime executives and industry leaders in Hamburg tomorrow (Wednesday), at one of the most prestigious events on the #shipping #finance and #investment calendar. We are incredibly grateful to the organisers of #MarineMoneyHamburg for inviting our scholarship recipients who will join our Lomar team attending the 2025 Marine Money conference at the Grand Elysee Hotel. Our scholarship is dedicated to fostering the next generation of seafarers and shipping professionals studying at HSB Hochschule Bremen – City University of Applied Sciences, and this conference is a perfect way of learning about part of our industry. Achim, who tragically passed away in 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer, was a highly respected mentor and teacher. He would be immensely proud, just as we are, to see our scholars given the chance to expand their industry knowledge and connections at this flagship industry event. Our lomarlabs Investment Analyst, Konstantinos Gkiokas, was lucky enough to find the gold coin at the Lloyd's Register #Vasilopita cake-cutting with peers from the Greek shipping community in London. The Vasilopita is a traditional Greek cake, baked with a hidden (gold) coin inside. This long-standing tradition, dating back to Saint Basil, symbolises good fortune for the year ahead. During the ceremony, a slice is designated for each person or entity, and the one who finds the coin is believed to receive luck and prosperity. #lomarlabs #shipping #maritime
