Join us for the launch of Anne Kirstine Rønn's latest MEC paper exploring the dynamics of labour movements in Iraq and Lebanon. While organised labour has been a key driver of resistance to authoritarian rule in countries such as Sudan and Egypt, it has played a more marginal role in opposition to the ruling elites in Lebanon and Iraq. Rønn's paper offers an analysis of the barriers and opportunities facing contemporary Lebanese and Iraqi labour movements. Thursday 20 February | 6 -7 PM | LSE & Zoom Discussants: Razaw Salihy and Fuad Musallam (University of Birmingham) Register to attend: https://lnkd.in/ewMQzRyk
