Congratulations Dai Harries on being awarded this month's Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure Health & Safety Award on the King Henry VIII School in Abergavenny. As well as being a highly respected member of the M&P Black Hat Team, Dai is also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, and it's great to see that he has been recognised for this award for his attitude towards Health & Safety. We are delighted to see our Site Manger - Jack Owen, be awarded the Site Operative of The Month award on our St Mellons site for Lovell Partnerships Ltd . What makes this award that extra bit special is that Jack along with his team are currently training 9 of our apprentices on this site. Well done Team, please keep driving our M&P standards and train within policy 👏👏👏

We take great pride and joy seeing things like this take place on our sites, these things are what makes us smile and strive to improve every day. Our SMSTS Jack Owen and SSSTS Kian Roach passing on their knowledge to our latest crop of apprentices, we have a strong belief which is proven and goes back many years to train within the company. Both Jack & Kian come through our training academy working under our experienced Managers and Directors, to see them pass their knowledge onto the next generation of trainees really is what it’s all about for us. If we have only 1% impact on these apprentice’s lives then we are happy to have contributed in some capacity, some stay, some move on but we always help educate them for what ever path they choose in life. Fire stopping is one of the industries hottest topics, we are leaving no stone unturned when assuring our managers, supervisors and operatives have the best support network around them when installing such high-risk works. What you could do before, unfortunately, can’t be done anymore. Early engagement with MEP, the specified fire protection manufacturer and on site mock ups are the key fundamentals when wanting to produce a fully compliant conformity certificate to the end user. Fundamental checks – What you can’t see is what can hurt you, always ensure batt edges are pasted, correct washer/fixing and screw fixing centres are followed, always ensure you are following specification and tested details.
