Founder Will Dubin will be attending Slush this week to network with the 13k investors and founders gathering in Helsinki, 🇫🇮. It's an excellent opportunity to engage with the VC and angel community as we wrap up our seed 🪴 round and builds on our successful attendance last year. Will has a few more meeting slots available - drop him a line if you'd like to find out more about how we are leveraging IoT and ML to tackle infrastructure flooding. #floodbusters

Our first careers fair ✅ ManholeMetrics attended the Imperial College London Green Careers Fair yesterday evening to engage with >500 current students and recent graduates 👩🎓. It was brilliant to see job market entrants so keen to pursue climate positive 🌍 roles! We were under strict instructions ⚠️ to minimise our associated carbon footprint 👣 so thought long and hard about what we could bring. We landed upon miniature cacti 🌵 in copper pots, which went down a treat (all 75 disappeared 🪄 in the first hour) with the goal of encouraging attendees to think carefully about water and its value in our society. Hopefully it will also serve as a lasting reminder to apply to our two open roles (which close on Mon 29th Nov): - 💻 Full-stack Engineer: developing our app, software and analytics offering - ⚙️Operations Associate: managing sales, biz, marketing & logistics streams For more information about the roles, and to apply, please visit: https://lnkd.in/dBGFPNDt Many thanks to Imperial Plus, Climate Entrepreneurs , Imperial Engineers Without Borders UK Imperial Environmental Society, and Imperial College Chemical Engineering Society for putting on such a great event, and to the 30 other sustainable companies in attendance. Last week I was fortunate enough thanks to the Innovate UK Global Explorers program to spend 4 brilliant days at Weftec in New Orleans, USA. Highlights included meeting over 40+ new clients/collaborators, networking with countless other fellow wastewater tech aficionados and the keynote which featured an unexpected but dazzling jazz performance 🎷 from Benny Starr and co., featuring hits from his flood-inspired work "Water Album", which brought the New Orleans renowned music culture right to centre stage. Of particular insight was the Smart Infrastructure for Sewer Solutions workshop on the Sunday which was highly engaging and a brilliant way to delve deeper into the US wastewater sector's direction of travel and fostered excellent discussion throughout between a diverse set of stakeholders - many thanks to speakers and organisers Ashley Smart, Christopher Dinsmore, Elizabeth Aguin, P.E., Rosaleen Nogle, PE, BCEE, BC. WRE, CFM, Baxter Vieux, Reese Johnson, P.E., PMP and Christopher Ranck, P.E., BCEE, BC..WRE, ENV SP, J. Kyle Logue, PE It was also a fantastic opportunity to hear feedback on our tech from those at the heart of the sector, and receive validation which included: "It's a no-brainer", "wait until I tell ---- about this, he will freak out", "I'm taking a photo to send to my colleague right now, hope he doesn't mind it's a Sunday, it's important". And now for the best bit: the follow-up! Can't wait to make my way through a small mountain of business cards and meeting notes, wish me luck! 🤞 PS London's jazz 🎷 scene has some serious catching up to do! www.manholemetrics.com ManholeMetrics #floodbusters

The International Water Association's world water congress last week was quite the experience, and it was a real privilege to attend and participate. I am incredibly grateful to Innovate UK for making this possible via the Global Explorers grant awarded to ManholeMetrics. It was a phenomenal opportunity to meet a great number of potential international partners and clients to discuss our IoT technology to mitigate flooding and boost operational insights, and I am looking forward to continuing the fruitful conversations from London and expanding ManholeMetrics' reach. A real highlight was co-chairing the Sewer Overflow Management technical session with Jo Burgess (Isle Utilities), which featured a diverse set of presentations and speakers from across the globe 🌏 (including 🇨🇦 🇩🇰 🇩🇪) sharing industry case studies and cutting edge research. In just 90 minutes we covered a broad spectrum of topics: from real time control to flow forecasting, sewer planning and open source sewer design software, to blockage formation, and an active Q&A from the engaged audience. A keen interest was shown for *data* (quality, quantity, availability, resolution & usage) in addition to affordability, resilience and robustness. Looking forward to the 2026 Glasgow edition already! Special thanks to Jo Burgess, Bill Welch, Daniela Bemfica, Angela Steward, Jane Zhou, Daneish Despot, David N. & Katayoun Kargar www.manholemetrics.com #floodbusters
