London-based experiential artist collective. We believe in the power of stories to tickle senses and shift perceptions.
About us
Marshmallow Laser Feast (MLF) is an experiential artist collective. We believe in the power of stories to tickle senses and shift perceptions. Our work takes people on a multisensory journey to where imagination and information collide. From coders to poets, chemists to ventriloquists, brands to institutions, we collaborate with specialists in all disciplines. To explore new forms of culture, interrogate our relationship with the world around us and leave a glittery slug trail as we journey through the cosmos. We’ve exhibited internationally at institutions including; ACMI, Barbican Centre, YCAM, DDB Seoul, Sundance Film Festival, Factory International, Quartier des Spectacles, Montreal, SXSW, Phi Centre and Lisbon Architectural Triennale.

Our new deep dive into the cetacean umwelt opens tomorrow at the Disseny Hub Barcelona (Design Museum of Barcelona) as part of the Ocean Speaks exhibition, curated by Jose Luis de Vicente. Seeing Echoes: In the Mind of the Whale was created in collaboration with Tom Mustill and with the support of the UPC Bioacoustic Applications Laboratory. The artwork is a large-scale video installation that immerses viewers in the sensory world of cetaceans. Blending deep listening, scientific insight, and creative interpretation, it offers a sensory experience that connects audiences to the strange and wonderful worlds of bottlenose dolphins, humpback whales, and sperm whales. Video artwork is an 18-minute long 2-channel video installation with 16.2-channel audio. From the exhibition text: The ocean speaks. New ecologies and new economies of the seas. An exhibition that analyses the impact of human action on marine ecosystems and reflects on how the city's relationship with the sea can be redesigned through an innovation-based approach. Seeing Echoes In the Mind of the Whale commissioned by Fundación Telefónica and Disseny Hub Barcelona. Dates: 10.10.2024–23.02.2025 Location: Dhub Barcelona Pl. de les Glòries Catalanes, 37-38 08018 Barcelona
