Andy brings an unparalleled wealth of industrial and research experience to the business, built over an extraordinary career spanning more than 45 years in the Power Industry. His journey has seen him excel in leading technical and managerial roles at major organisations such as Rolls-Royce Marine Power, PowerGen, E.ON, and most recently EDF Energy, where he served as Chief Mechanical Engineer in the Coal and Gas Operations business. As a mechanical engineer, Andy’s expertise lies in: -Modelling of structures -Plant life assessment -Safety cases and life extension -Failure investigations and condition monitoring -Risk mitigation for operating plants Beyond his industrial leadership, Andy is an active contributor to academia as a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London and an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham. ⭐ MatAlytics Gears Up for the Future: Key Insights from the Nottingham Investor-Ready Workshop ⭐   Our CTO Dr. Benedikt Engel Engel and Exec Chair Dan Hatfield had the privilege of attending the Nottingham Investor Ready Workshop at the University of Nottingham, an very insightful session led by Jim Shirley from FundingHero, supported by Lewis Stringer from the British Business Bank.   The workshop was a deep dive into the process of preparing for a funding round, whether through debt, angel investors, or venture capital. We explored the crucial steps and timelines involved in successfully navigating these funding routes.   A special thank you to Hannah Tapsell Chapman from Mercia Asset Management PLC and Charlie Weavers-Wright from Haatch Investment, who shared essential insights into the VC funding process. Their perspectives on what investors are looking for and how to present your business for the best chances of success were invaluable.   The event coincided with MatAlytics closing part 2 of its pre-seed round bringing combined Innovate UK grants and investment to nearly £750k to date. We are grateful to our investors and the company is now well prepared as it ramps up its Early Adopters Programme in the energy sector and moves towards a seed round in later 2025.
