  • Our second GEO release of the day covers analysis of Tropical Cyclone Garance. Garance made landfall at Category 2 status on the French overseas territory of Réunion Island, bringing high winds and heavy rainfall which has left thousands without power whilst tragically resulting in the death of one person. To inform clients with initial intelligence around the impact of this event at an exposure level, the MIS team have added a report to GEO. This includes assessments of areas potentially affected by wind with an attached damage estimate. Login to GEO to understand where business in the area could be at risk of exposure. If you are not a GEO user but would like to unlock MIS coverage of Tropical Cyclone Garance, head to the link in the comments to contact the team.

  • As the second month of the year approaches its conclusion, we're back with the latest post in our 'From the archives' series to explore past GEO event reports from Februarys gone by. This edition sees us travel to Africa to reflect upon our coverage of Tropical Cyclone Enmati in Madagascar, which made landfall in February 2022. Enmati was the fourth tropical cyclone to hit the island nation within the space of a month, with the unrelenting combination of heavy winds and significant rainfall impacting over 100,000 people and damaging thousands of buildings across Madagascar in this period. To help clients understand where and to what extent their in-force policies in Madagascar were likely to be affected, the team released a number of intelligence layers on the GEO report. This included detailed exposure assessments of impacted areas, wind speeds and tracks covering all 4 tropical cyclones, as well as the lesser-seen Predicted Rainfall layer. If you're interested in learning more about how MIS responded to this historic event and over 200 others across the globe, reach out to our team at any time: https://lnkd.in/gVfm5D6K

Strategic partnerships are no longer a "nice-to-have" in the insurance industry— they're a "must-have" for survival and growth. 🤝 📈 🚀 In today's rapidly evolving landscape, no single organisation can possess all the expertise, technology, or reach needed to address the complex challenges and opportunities. That's where strategic partnerships come in. Here's why they're so crucial: ➡️ Expanding Reach & Access: Partnerships unlock new markets, customer segments, and distribution channels. By collaborating with complementary businesses, insurers can tap into previously unreachable audiences. ➡️ Accelerating Innovation: Combining forces with Insurtechs, tech companies, or even other insurers can accelerate the development and adoption of cutting-edge technologies and solutions. ➡️ Sharing Expertise & Resources: Partnerships allow companies to leverage each other's strengths, whether it's specialised knowledge, data insights, or operational capabilities. This reduces costs and speeds up time-to-market. ➡️ Enhancing Customer Experience: By working together, insurers can create seamless, integrated experiences for their customers, offering a wider range of products and services tailored to their specific needs. ➡️ Navigating Complexity: The insurance landscape is becoming increasingly complex, with new regulations, risks, and customer expectations. Partnerships provide the support and shared knowledge needed to navigate these challenges effectively. • The MIS team has been in California this week to support our partners the California Insurance Emergency Response Association and their members at the 2025 CIERA Annual Meeting! We were delighted to have GEO front and centre as the dedicated disaster response platform whilst CIERA members took part in an exercise based on the HayWired earthquake scenario. This gave CIERA members a great opportunity to get hands-on with GEO and understand how it enhances their event response processes, where our very own James Doe, Matthew Patience and David Heathcote were on hand to make sure users could get the most out of the platform and our intelligence. Thanks to Amy Macdonald and David Kodama, Jr. from CIERA for hosting us and we can't wait to hear more from the team when they return to the UK!
