This special event was not only a time to enjoy a festive lunch but also an opportunity to connect with Kelley Evans, Executive Vice President for the Americas Region and members of the HR team. We were delighted to also have the Medela Board of Directors as well as Thomas A. Golücke, CEO, and Nicolé Kettenus-Schwarz, CMO, join us for the occasion. 💜 Today, November 17, we observe #WorldPrematurityDay 💜 – a day dedicated to raising awareness about the challenges faced by premature babies and their families. These tiny fighters are some of the most vulnerable, yet most resilient, and supporting them is at the heart of what we do at #Medela. Their early arrival means less time in the womb, leaving them more vulnerable to illnesses and infections. Breast milk, which plays a crucial role in the health and development of all infants, is truly a lifeline for premature babies. However, breastfeeding directly can often be challenging in these circumstances. That’s why we’re committed to driving research, improving the standard of care, and working closely with healthcare professionals in neonatal and #NICU settings to ensure these fragile lives have access to the nutrition and protection breast milk provides. Beyond our work in neonatology, we also partner with institutions like Frühchen & Neokinder Schweiz (Preemie Switzerland) to provide vital support to parents and create awareness of this critical topic. To honor #WorldPrematurityDay, we’re proud to share this video from Frühchen & Neokinder Schweiz, celebrating the incredible strength of parents of preemies and applauding the healthcare professionals who care for our tiniest patients every day. 💡 Learn more about the benefits of breast milk for premature babies and find helpful guidance for parents here: http://ms.spr.ly/6046WlWnj #TurningScienceIntoCare #WorldPrematurityDay2024

🚀 Future Day 2024 at Medela🚀 Yesterday we welcomed 15 curious young minds to our Medela headquarters in Baar for this year's Future Day. Led by Lea Schmidlin from HR and two of our apprentices, #AndreyMarvão and Rafael Almeida, our guests explored what it's like to work at Medela and be part of our community. From creating 3D models in R&D, to operating state-of-the-art machines in our workshop, to discovering the fascinating production process of our breast pumps, the day was packed with hands-on activities, learning and inspiration. It was incredible to watch the enthusiasm of the next generation as they explored how Medela turns science into care. Each child left with new knowledge, a gift and memories that we hope will fuel their curiosity for years to come. A big shout out to our apprentices, Andrey and Rafael, for capturing the magic in this video! #FutureDay2024 #FutureDay #NextGeneration #teamMedela

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸 A recent article in The Economist focuses on the benefits of breast milk extending far beyond infant nutrition, calling it a neglected goldmine. Given its unique constituents – including stem cells, white blood cells and beneficial bacteria (1), as well as other bioactive components, such as antibodies, enzymes and hormones (2) – it has long been known that breast milk helps fight infection, prevents disease, and contributes to normal healthy development and can lower incidence of sepsis, chronic lung disease and necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC)(3). Recent studies even suggest that components of breast milk may help repair brain damage in premature babies, with promising results for motor and cognitive development. Now, the scientific community is exploring more and more the therapeutic potential of breast milk for a range of adult conditions, including cancer, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders like arthritis. At Medela, we’ve long understood the life-changing power of breast milk, which is why we’ve dedicated nearly three decades to advancing its science. From collaborating with institutions like The University of Western Australia (#UWA) to sharing insights with the global healthcare community, we remain committed to improving health outcomes for mothers, babies and beyond through research and innovation. As the potential of breast milk continues to unfold, we’re proud to play a role in supporting these discoveries and reaffirm our mission to turn science into care, nurturing health for generations. Proudly introducing the A-Z of Pumping, a fun and creative campaign we partnered with Kiindred ™ for the launch of our #SwingMaxiHandsfree breast pump in Down Under – a pump that combines simplicity, effectiveness and convenience designed for moms on the go. We challenged Ruby, a mom of five and Kiindred content creator, to find a pumping spot for every letter of the alphabet! She took on the challenge with humor and creativity, proving just how compact, effective, and convenient the Swing Maxi Hands-free can be for moms on the move. From cars to cafés and everything in between, Ruby shows that breastfeeding and pumping can fit seamlessly into any lifestyle. A special shout out to our Australia team - Andrea Campi, Sindho Hyder, and Onna Tantri - and our partner Kiindred ™ for making this campaign possible and supporting #breastfeeding and #pumping Aussie moms.
