Dining out with dietary restrictions can often be a challenge. For me, it’s more than just personal preference—I have foods that make me unwell, along with a severe nut allergy. It can be hard to find restaurants that truly understand what that’s like. So often, I’ve been served dry, flavorless gluten-free bread or just a fruit salad for dessert, which can leave me feeling excluded from the full dining experience But last night was different. Thank you, Tom Hamblet,(winner of MasterChef: The Professionals 2023) the incredible chef at the newly launched restaurant, The Avenue, Lainston House part of Exclusive Collection. Not only did Tom craft an 8-course menu where I could eat every single dish, but he also ensured that I didn’t feel left out for a second. There was no ‘cardboard bread’ or fruit salad in sight—just thoughtful, creative, and absolutely delicious food. There was even a bread course! The gluten-free bread was beautifully made, served with the most amazing garden herb butter, with herbs picked from the hotel’s kitchen garden. A huge shoutout to Rhiannon and Charis Leighton-Jones, two standout members of the restaurant team who turned the evening into an unforgettable experience. They explained every course and detail of the dishes with passion and knowledge, transforming the meal into something far beyond just eating—it became an immersive experience. The effort to accommodate guests is done with care, not compromise. If you’re looking for more than just good food—a true experience—I can highly recommend The Avenue. P.S. Lainston House has a fabulous Cookery School and a Chef's Table which is a great team building experience and the hotel works perfectly for exclusive use events. #diningexperience #finedining #risingstars #hospitality #teambuilding #meetingsclubvenue #serviceisthesecret #cookeryschool #executiveassistant #eventsprofs #hotels #restaurants #glutenfree
