Since 2020, MGF have collaborated with VolkerStevin and The Environment Agency to provide flood defences to the residents of Rochdale and Littleborough. The scheme was split into two phases, with Phase 1a commencing in 2020, whilst Phase 1b is currently ongoing. This project saw the use of a wide range of MGF struts and bracing systems to support multiple excavation projects. Senior Engineer, Bart Chwalewski commented, "MGF’s support and adaptability have been critical to our response in providing new flood defences for the people of Rochdale and Littleborough. Their rapid response and prompt solution delivery enabled us to work efficiently and safely, even under challenging conditions." What an incredible evening of celebrations at the Etihad last night, attended by Engineering Manager Lee Womersley CEng MICE and CAD Team Leader Dylan Pollard. MGF are very grateful to have received the award for ‘SME Apprentice Employer of the Year’. It’s wonderful to see The University of Salford celebrating all the hard work put into apprenticeships across the region, as well as our recognition as a leading business for our commitment to developing our employees. Our Grass Routes program and approach to apprenticeships impressed the judges with the results it is delivering in providing opportunities in the local areas surrounding our main engineering centre. Our Engineering Manager, Lee Womersley, was also invited to deliver an overview of how apprentices are helping strengthen their engineering department and explained how MGF support their apprentices to develop the critical skills required of a professional Civil Engineer. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners last night. We look forward to continuing our support with the University and helping grow the next generation. #weareMGF #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #ApprenticeshipAwards
