Understanding the history of our site is essential to its future. From the beginning, we’ve been committed to respecting the heritage of the area we’ll be redeveloping. To honour it properly, we need a deep understanding of its past. That’s why we’ve called on the expertise of local historian Dr Tosh Warwick, helping us ensure that this site is commemorated thoughtfully and with care. We’re excited to highlight the significance of including a hotel within our mixed-use scheme for Gresham 📍 Why is this important? Middlesbrough is a growing hub for business and work-related travel, the major investment in Teesworks is one example of that, yet the town faces a shortage of quality hotels to meet the needs of professionals and visitors. That’s why the hotel and mixed-use scheme at Gresham is so important. This project isn’t just about adding rooms, it’s about creating a modern, welcoming space that supports the growing demand for business travel, enhances the visitor experience, and contributes to the local economy. Fairfield is well-established in North America and increasingly so in Europe, but this latest development would be one of the chain’s first in the UK - Right here in Middlesbrough! 📍 This is just the beginning. Welcome, 2025 👋🏼 As we step into a new year, we’d like to express our gratitude to everyone who has supported the Gresham project throughout 2024. Your continued support has been instrumental in driving progress and bringing our vision closer to reality. While there’s still work to be done, we’re entering 2025 with optimism and momentum. The year ahead promises significant milestones, and we’re excited to keep delivering meaningful change for Middlesbrough. Merry Christmas from the Gresham Team! 🎄 As the year draws to a close, we’d like to take a moment to wish everyone in Middlesbrough and beyond a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2024 has been an incredible year for the Gresham project, thanks to the support of our community and partners. Together, we’ve made great strides toward transforming this area into a vibrant place to live, work, and thrive. We hope you’re all having a wonderful time with your loved ones ❤️

We're incredibly proud to share our latest update with you all. The Gresham regeneration project has taken a major step forward with an additional £7 million in funding. This funding will help kickstart site works in April 2025, with construction set to begin later in the year. The project will deliver a new hotel, professional living, and student accommodation, supporting the growth of Teesside University and local businesses. Neil McMillan shares: "The MDC board’s decision to approve the next stage of funding is a pivotal step forward, demonstrating our shared commitment to delivering a transformational scheme for Middlesbrough. This project will introduce a new choice of housing, helping to attract and retain talented individuals while supporting the growth of local businesses. “The funding enables us to move ahead with planning, detailed design, and construction procurement. With this in mind, our construction partner, Wates, will soon engage with the local supply chain, ensuring a significant portion of the investment stays within our region.” Read more below 👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/eaHCpU8i

Take a Trip Down Memory Lane This Christmas ❤️ Do you remember when Middlesbrough town centre was the heart of the festive season? From the 70's through to the 00's, the streets were alive with Christmas lights, busy shoppers, and that unmistakable festive buzz. As we look back, we’re also looking forward.
