The students have been working alongside staff on our housing maintenance contract with Portsmouth City Council, gaining valuable work experience in trades such as Carpentry and Electrical works, all whilst undertaking their studies at the college. We are proud to be supporting students at the very start of their careers, and look forward to continuing to work with Chichester College. It’s been a fantastic experience to be part of the Shaping Portsmouth shaped by solent programme in 2024. Autumn Keeping and I are mentoring different classes at Redwood Park Academy where the SEND students are working very hard to create and produce their item to sell at the Shaping Portsmouth conference. Looking forward to bring this all together over the next couple of weeks and seeing the final product! Thank you to Kirsty Hill for leading the programme and Jo Sleath and the brilliant Southsea Class at Redwood Park Academy for making this such an enjoyable experience.

The countdown is on with less than 24 hours until we open the doors to our brand new Outpatients and Diagnostic Centre. We caught up with Chief Officer Joe Smyth, who dropped into the new centre to take a look around and say thank you to our staff who have been working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready for the big opening. Remember, if you need a walk-in x-ray between 9am and 5:30pm or have an appointment for the fracture clinic make sure you head to the North Hospital for your appointment. Patients needing a walk-in x-ray after 5pm will need to visit the x-ray department in the main hospital (located next to the emergency department reception.)
