Whenever there is a seismic shift in society, such as Trump’s re-election to the White House a couple of weeks ago, there is endless soul-searching to make sense of consumer attitudes and forecast the implications for the coming years. To better understand this seismic shift, we revisited our Cultural Insights report, titled ‘The Great Unwokening’, from earlier this year, which identified the growing gender divide and rise of more traditional, sometimes conservative, ways of life. Our report identified several key trends to help brands forge a new ‘gender alliance’ over the coming years. Check out this month’s Trends Snapshot for a re-cap on the report and guidance on how to navigate these uncertain global times. #genderdivide #culture #trends #elections

What an incredible week at Product Design Week ! We’re so proud to have spoken at such an inspiring event and even prouder of our own Michael Thompson and Eva Muhr, who took the stage at UX Live to share insights on what streaming services can teach us about #UX design: 📺 Tackling choice paralysis—why we freeze up with too many options and the clever hacks users deploy to beat it. 📺 Using image-based discovery to guide users visually, with minimal labels and maximum impact. The week was packed with fascinating talks from across the industry, like: 👉 Ryan Robert K. on Literalism in Digital Design, where he highlighted how sticking to the basics—efficiency, simplicity, and user familiarity—can often trump conceptual reinventions. 👉Kevin Stewart eye-opening session on How to Innovate Out of a Recession, showing how constraints have historically led to the most ground-breaking ideas and why now is the time to seize opportunities—especially with the rise of #AI. A huge thank you to the amazing team at UX Live! who organised this week of bold ideas and fresh inspiration. If you have any questions or would like to hear more about our key-note speech, get in touch! #PDW24

On Friday, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport released a new report titled "The Future of TV Distribution," which we co-authored and contributed to as research and insight partners. The report indicates that, based on current trends, 95% of UK households will have the capacity to watch TV over the internet by 2040. However, 5% of UK households (equivalent to an estimated 1.5 million people) will still rely on traditional linear broadcasting at that point unless intervention is taken. Our Head of Strategy, Rob Collier, commented on the report: "While access to IPTV is set to approach universality in the next decade, the report highlights the sizeable group that will — without support — remain reliant on broadcast TV and lacking the benefits of IPTV." He added: "As with the move from analogue to digital over a decade ago, there are a raft of considerations and ramifications for the entire TV ecosystem to navigate as we shift towards IPTV." Thank you to all of those who covered the news, here is the most recent piece of coverage from The Media Leader UKhttps://lnkd.in/ekf76w9z If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch! #futureofTV #TL

We’re in our brand power era, and it’s here to stay.    Last week, a report we produced for CNN titled "Brand Power: Strategies for Instant Impact and Future Growth" was released into the world! It looks at why brands everywhere are doubling down on brand marketing, and shares practical tips for making these strategies work in real campaigns.   What to know what the data revealed? Hear what senior consultant and project lead, Imogen Nightingale, has to say about the findings:   👉 Brands put brand marketing first: Always-on investment in brand set to surge next year for lasting impact. 👉 Brands go global: As audiences connect across borders, advertisers shift budgets to build a unified worldwide presence. 👉 International news media boosts brand credibility – Ads placed alongside major global news events don’t diminish brand sentiment; instead, they elevate brand prestige and trust.   To find out more and get your own copy of the report, keep reading…   A huge thank you to the team at CNN: Jo Tenzer, Jacqueline Tung, James Spellins and Oliver Barter for choosing MTM as your research partner.   #thoughtleadership #brandpower #cnn
