Huge thanks to everyone who has given their time to filling in our Cyber Expertise Diversity Survey. And many thanks to all of you who have kindly shared my post to your networks and encouraged your colleagues to take part. The survey is staying open until the end of November. If you have been thinking of responding, please do! Or if you can think of individuals or groups to whom it might be relevant, please do share and encourage them to take part: we're interested in hearing from cyber security professionals in all fields, sectors and career stages. Tell us what your 'comb' of cyber expertise looks like! The survey is run by the University of Warwick, as part of a fellowship with the National Cyber Security Centre funded Research Institute for Sociotechnical Cyber Security (RISCS) https://lnkd.in/e4e6zhV2

Alongside Action Fraud, we are today issuing an urgent warning to Black Friday bargain hunters as newly published figures reveal rising losses to online scammers during the festive shopping period. Shoppers lost over £11 million to cyber criminals during last year’s festive shopping period, with clothing, high-end tech products and cars among the most common products cited as bait used by scammers. The new figures have been released as the NCSC launches a national campaign to encourage people to turn on 2-step verification (2SV) to help protect their online accounts.
