What does sustained campaigning achieve? Stella Vig shares her thoughts. #BackThe1in6
What does sustained campaigning achieve? On Thursday 28 November 2024, Andrew Gwynne MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at Department of Health and Social Care, announced a new UK-wide forum will be set up to find ways to improve care and support for people affected by neurological conditions. The announcement follows a long-standing campaign led by The The Neurological Alliance together with Neurological Alliance of Scotland, Wales Neurological Alliance and the NORTHERN IRELAND NEUROLOGICAL CHARITIES ALLIANCE and supported by over 100 organisations and more than 19,000 people. This is incredible as we need to ensure that large and small volume conditions are represented and supported by the @NHS. Was humbled to be invited to the AGM by Georgina Carr FRSA and spoke to experts with lived experience, passionate to ensure that patient and carer thoughts and visions for the future are embedded into commissioning and practical solutions as we go forwards with the 10 year plan. How do we ensure that we have the right input into our future vision NHS England? What are you doing to support and plan for the future transformation?
