Our briefing today exposed the dangerous maintenance backlog facing NHS ambulance trusts, hindering productivity and putting staff at risk. Antony Tucker, one of our policy and engagement advisors, discusses the issues facing the sector in more detail. The bottom line? It is incredibly important that we give NHS services the tools and the investment that they need to allow them to focus on their life-saving work. Trying to decide, on a limited budget, which repairs can be afforded in any given month, and being forced to patch up crumbling facilities as best as they can, is not how we should be supporting our emergency services.
