So…the King made a film for us... 👑 Ok, not exactly... But we caught your attention 👀 The Nium team recently got together at Diamond Light Source Harwell Science and Innovation Campus with RE:TV to create a film to build understanding about Green Ammonia and Nium's mission to provide Green Ammonia on Demand globally. Who are RE:TV ? ‘RE:TV was launched by His Majesty The King in 2020, when he was Prince of Wales. As our editor-in-chief, he gave us clear guidance on the principles and priorities for us to follow, and his long-standing commitment to the environment continues to inspire us today. As he said in 2020, "We've got to come together as a world on this."’ Communicating these initiatives is so important The environmental impacts of ammonia production are widely known within the industries we are targeting, but there isn't as much awareness on the solutions - Many buyers don't know that Green Ammonia on Demand could be an option for them in the very near future. By reducing the emissions associated with ammonia production, we can create a pathway to green hydrogen for use in sectors like transport and heavy industry. Incase you haven't seen our recent posts, we wanted to share the film with you again: https://lnkd.in/eWCEvre4 We're committed to our mission to reducing carbon emissions by providing green ammonia on demand. Just a quick recap of some of the things we've been doing over the past week or so ... Earlier in the month, a few of team Nium headed down under to meet partners, investors and attend industry events. Since then, Hannah van Niekerk Kerry McLaughlin Lewis Jenkins and Keith Ajagun-Brauns have all been spotted down under, busy with some very important work towards decarbonising the ammonia industry. Learn more about Nium: 💚 Nium's Theory of Change: https://lnkd.in/dJzKeKG2 💚 Intro video: https://lnkd.in/dC22F_qU 💚 About Project Koala: https://lnkd.in/eZnnGbpY We would like to extend another thanks to HydGene Renewables Louise Brown Kerstin Petroll and the team, Stuart Tait, AgriFutures evokeAG AgriFutures Australia Dallas Pearce Farmers2Founders Claire Pink Innovate UK Jodie Shaw and everyone else who we have met along the way and who have helped to make this trip as valuable as it has been. If you are interested in learning more about our work, we will be posting more information on our theory of change in the coming weeks. If you are in Sydney or Perth and believe an introduction will be valuable, comment below and our team will work with you to try and arrange some time to chat.

Last Friday, we visited Stuart Tait's farm - and what an amazing day! Hannah van Niekerk and Kerry McLaughlin from Nium headed to Stuart Tait's farm, kindly taken there by Louise Brown and Natalie Curach from HydGene Renewables to discuss our exciting new project (more info linked below). We talked about the various challenges he faces, particularly around fertiliser price volatility and stability of supply. We discussed how 'One of the things that this project (project Koala, see link below) can address is the volatility and availability of fertiliser', and explained how Australian farmers are totally reliant on import, coming in on a boat. Stuart also showed us his first crop of buckwheat which benefited from some recent rainfall. He's using buckwheat to improve soil quality with the added benefit of supporting insect life - The plants were buzzing with bees 🐝 🐝 He operates a mixed farming system with Angus cattle and crops of wheat, canola and fava beans. These live alongside the kangaroos and cockatoos on the farm. We also spotted a highly venomous Eastern brown snake...! Stuart and his wife, Izzy, were incredibly hospitable with lunch on their deck. We’re so excited for this project and want to extend our gratitude again to everyone who has made it possible. Read more about project Koala: https://lnkd.in/ejR3rCNB

Very proud of and grateful to the people in this picture. They are doing something that has never been done before in the history of mankind. What if I told you that between them and generous support from the UK and Australian governments, the help of a legendary Aussie farmer - they are 1. taking biomass that would otherwise go to waste 🌿 2. turning it in to clean hydrogen 🫧 3. turning it in to clean ammonia that can be used as a sustainable fertilizer today to grow food 🌾🌱 Decentralised, Decarbonised, Democratised Being able to feed ourselves really matters. Doing that locally, without polluting, matters too. While the denialists bluster, the hype cycles run and the artificial bubbles burst in the background the heroes at HydGene Renewables and Nium are making sure we can put bread on the table on an inhabitable earth 🌍 SALUTE 🫡 On behalf of me and future generations. THANK YOU!

Something that we've been discussing a lot lately? Decentralisation. Here's why... Traditional ammonia production is centralised around 550 mega-plants globally—large, fossil-fuel-driven facilities tied to massive energy demands. These plants are locked into fossil fuel locations, making them inflexible and highly polluting. We’re always working on how we can flip the script and not only decarbonise, but revolutionise the entire industry. By operating at much lower pressures and temperatures, our nanotechnology enables modular, localised ammonia production powered by renewable energy. Now, this isn’t just about cutting emissions (though we’re targeting up to 96% reductions). It’s about making clean ammonia accessible everywhere. From agricultural hubs to deserts, we want to give local regions autonomy over their food and energy supplies. By moving away from centralised mega-plants, we can also improve food security, reduce supply chain dependency, and democratise access to clean ammonia production.

If you’ve been following us for a while, you probably don’t need more reasons to believe in the power of ammonia... But our marketing manager needed something to post today, so you’re getting another. A world running off clean ammonia isn’t a dream, it’s a reality within our grasp - and soon. With bunkering facilities across the globe, the clean ammonia transition can leverage a mature, decentralised infrastructure that’s already supporting half of the world’s food supply. Ammonia is, and will continue to be, the backbone of modern society. Instead of building entirely new systems for a hydrogen transition, using ammonia as a hydrogen carrier opens up massive potentials with higher energy density, easier storage requirements, and global availability. One of many reasons why we’re on a mission to decarbonise ammonia production. #ammonia #nium #cleanammonia #greenammonia #hydrogen #hydrogentransition #energy #energytransition
