ECDC have just won the New London Award for Meanwhile Projects! Supported by the Mayor of London, these awards honour projects making a positive impact on the city, and we’re thrilled the team has been recognised for all the hard work they’ve put in to bringing the long-vacant site back to life. Since opening up the site we’ve seen over 500,000 visitors pass through the space, spending time at attractions such as Padel Social Club, Come Alive! The Greatest Showman Spectacular and at the urban beach and movie screenings. Our community of creatives, charities and independent businesses in Empress Studios and along Lillie Road are championing local retail and community spirit and bringing a buzz to the area, and The Lost Estate's immersive theatre and food experience is doing the same in West Kensington. Together these activations have created hundreds of jobs and driven millions of pounds of spend into the local economy. And our Community Hub has become a much loved space for local people, hosting dozens of classes and workshops each week as well as the 10th Fulham Scouts. A huge thank you to our meanwhile partners who’ve helped make this possible: National Portrait Gallery, Padel Social Club, Come Alive! The Greatest Showman Spectacular with THE SEELIG GROUP, LLC, The Skills Centre, Incipio Group, Pedal Back Cycling ltd, The Hoarder® Retail Limited, Dads House, Solidarity Sports, The LOWE Group, This Is Projekt Ltd. and The Lost Estate NLA #earlscourt #discoverwonder #meanwhileuse #placemaking #londonrealestate Sian Astrop Jade Barltrop Jamie Hodge
