This week NLB has been working with 13 young people in collaboration with Merseyside Police, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Career Connect to provide CSCS card training and short H&S courses. This project is focused on supporting young Wirral residents, between the ages of 16 to 25 and not in education or employment, and creating positive pathways to further education or employment. We are pleased to report that all attendees have passed their CSCS!

Yesterday we held an open day for our next skills Bootcamp. The centre was full of applicants and the next group will be starting their education with us soon. NLB is proud to be funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to deliver construction and green skills training, leading to employment in Merseyside for people aged 19+ years who are looking to transition from benefits to employment. Our police-funded group are signed up and ready to start education, including obtaining their CSCS cards next week. NLB supports young people through our police partnership by bridging gaps to qualifications that support youth employment and engagement in apprenticeships. It’s great that the police have identified this community need and are funding NLB to engage and skill young local people currently out of education and employment. #liverpoolemployers #NEETs #liverpoolcareers

NLB is proud to work with Merseyside Police to deliver construction training for 50 young people who are not currently in education or employment. This partnership helps to reduce county lines (young people being exploited into the drugs industry) by providing construction training packages to bridge gaps into apprenticeships and employment. This contract is open to 16-25 year olds, and majority of the group are aged between 18 and 20. For more information on this contract please contact barbara@nlb-cic.co.uk

Exciting news! NLB has been awarded a direct award to deliver skills bootcamps throughout 2024 and 2025! We will be skilling people every month within specialist construction areas, including CSCS provision, with guaranteed job interviews. NLB is recognised for social value on tender frameworks as we support unemployed people into employment. It's a pleasure to be training a new group of learners from Knowsley this week as part of our funded project with Livv Housing Group All learners are 16-24 years old and not in education or employment, and we had over 20 referrals for this new cohort. As well as training people on universal credit seeking employment, we are proud to also support young people and bridge the gap to construction employment and apprenticeships. This week our trainers are in Knowsley completing construction training with a cohort of Knowsley residents who are currently not in education or employment. Through our funding from Livv Housing Group, NLB has been working with pupils from Meadow Park School in Stockbridge Village. We worked with six pupils in their final year to support them in gaining construction qualifications and their CSCS card, to support their apprenticeship pathways and employment. Great work by Livv Housing Group, delivering social value through education services to support young Knowsley residents and prevent them from being NEET (not in employment, education or training).
