🌊 Propelling Innovation in Marine Technologies and Beyond 🌊 At NOC Innovations, our pre accelerator Ocean Catalyst programme – the UK’s only programme dedicated to ocean technology —is set to play a pivotal role in supporting very early-stage marine tech start-ups with an ecosystem that nurtures their growth and fosters collaboration among scientists, innovators, and industry leaders. Welcoming our first cohort in April 2025, Ocean Catalyst participants will be provided with skill-building workshops, mentoring, and have access to the National Oceanography Centre's state-of-the-art workspaces, laboratories, and testing facilities. In addition, participants who excel in the NOC pre accelerator Ocean Catalyst can access further opportunities by progressing to the University of Southampton Science Park’s wider Catalyst Business Acceleration Programme. This programme is delivered in an exciting partnership with NOC Innovations, University of Southampton Science Park, Health Innovation Wessex, and the School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation, University of Southampton and represents a shared commitment to advancing marine science, technology and innovation. 🔬 To find out more about the programme and how it can benefit you, please visit our website and check out our brochure 📖👉 https://lnkd.in/eE2NZwcr #NOCIOceanCatalyst

Check out this clip from Conrad Humphreys' keynote at #MATS24 from earlier in November 💡👇

I love sharing stories on a stage. Developing a new speech about AI and high performance sailing has taken me into new ground. I’m not an expert, particularly in this room, surrounded by data and the AI generation. But I do see AI as an amazing tool, that has transformational opportunities for all business that we should embrace with human centric leadership. In this short clip, 216 sailors are about to head into a bad storm in the Bass Strait during Leg 4 of the Global Challenge. 11 skippers are preparing for the worst, the forecast looks ominous. The data frightening. This was perhaps our defining moment in the race that sealed the overall win. Opportunity arrises when others play it safe. Sometimes the calm is more dangerous than the storm Thank you National Oceanography Centre and NOC Innovations for the opportunity to share these stories. #navigatingAIhype #MATS24 #marineAI #highperformance #adapttochange #lookbeyondthestorm

What an incredible opening day to the National Oceanography Centre and NOC Innovations Marine Autonomy and Technology Showcase. Great #storytelling is so important to highlight the crucial work our ocean plays in securing a wellbeing economy that is good for people and planet. This is a story of ocean and climate science we must get right. Understanding the health of our ocean is critical to ensure it can continue to regulate our climate and support all life on Earth with marine technologies playing a vital role. There are so many parallels to earlier voyages of exploration as we seek to understand the need for humanity to adapt to change with far greater urgency. I’m really looking forward to what tomorrow brings… 🙏John Siddorn Jo Thompson Alice Kloker Huw Gullick Katherine Hill Peter Ryde Will Dixon and the NOC Innovations team for a great opening day. PS: That tour of the James Cook was such a personal treat and thank you Jo Thompson for organising this. #mats24 #storyofhope #marineai #oceanscience #adapttochange #keynote
