The North East Business Resilience Centre (NEBRC) is a non-profit organisation which exists to support and help protect North East England businesses from cyber crimes. Our unique connection to Local Universities and the 7 Police Forces in Northumbria, Cleveland, Durham, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Humberside gives us exclusive access to the latest information on legislation, criminal trends, threats and new technology allowing us to provide the very best advice to safeguard your staff, customers and business. The North East Business Resilience Centre is due to be established late 2019. We are to be funded by a range of Private and Public Partners including the Police and a wide range of business investors and members across England. We will work proactively with colleagues throughout the UK based on the Scottish BRC model with the help of their ex-CEO Mandy Haeburn-Little.

"We need to find an email from someone who left over two years ago - it's desperately needed for an ongoing legal case" A customer raised a ticket with this challenge last week. They were in the middle of a commercial dispute, and their legal team needed specific email evidence from a former employee's mailbox. Many businesses would face a dead end here because: - The mailbox was deleted after employee departure - No archive policies were in place - Teams messages were automatically deleted - Crucial evidence potentially lost forever - Legal costs mounting with no resolution But here's how our client avoided this exact situation: We had implemented: - Exchange Online archiving (included in Business Premium) - Automatic moving of emails older than 6 months to archive - Managers retain easy access through Outlook (shared mailbox to save on license costs) As a secondary fail-safe, we use a third party backup solution which offers: - Point-in-time recovery of any mailbox - Granular search across all backed-up content - Legal hold capabilities - Separate storage from Microsoft 365 - Rapid restoration when needed The result - we found the crucial email in their backup archive within 15 minutes, well, 12 minutes to be precise.
