We're planning further support for our residents with cost-of-living pressures, thanks to an extension of the Household Support Fund. Building on previous support, this Winter we will be: 👉Issuing PayPoint vouchers of between £150-£200 for pensions on low income and not eligible for winter fuel payment. 👉Supporting families to access winter clothing for children. 👉Continuing supermarket voucher provision for those on means tested free school meals during school holidays. 👉 Funding the return of the Warm Welcome scheme across our communities 👉 Increasing crisis support and supporting residents experiencing hardship with essentials such as food and utlities. Yesterday we welcomed the 'big blanket' to North Tyneside for an informative session with education colleagues and headteachers. Sarah Martin-Denham spoke about her research into increasing numbers of permenant exclusions in schools, her own experience and the experience of those who had been through suspension and exclusion. Each square has been handmade and donated by parents, grandparents, children, teachers, headteachers and crochet clubs – representing one of the 2,999 children impacted by suspension or permanent exclusion during the 21-22 academic year. It was a really insightful session and created open conversation about the impact on local schools and pupils. Thanks Sarah! 👏

Our old (in all senses of the word) social media guy (me) is working on other projects and we need someone to pick up some of the digital communications and marketing things he used to handle, amongst other things, for the next 12 months. This job incorporates many of the things that allowed me to say IMHO "I've got the best job at the council" It's not easy, requires a level head, good communication skills and a decent sense of humour. There's some official requirements in the documents on the link too, but if you have a creative spark and love to bring stories to life in the digital world, then have a look here 👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/eJPxkE4n
