Last week, students from four continents faced off in the ultimate test of wits, showcasing their ingenuity, experimentation, and teamwork at the Problem-Solving Olympiad. 🥇 The Champs: Alverno Heights Academy "They seamlessly combined all the problem-solving skills and strategized with precision." 🥈 2nd Place + Creativity Award: Sophia High School "They showed great divergent thinking with inventive solutions to solve complex problems." 🥉 3rd Place + Resilience & EQ Awards: St Mary's School, Hampstead "When things got hard, they stayed focused, showed great determination, and never lost energy." 🛠️ Collaboration Award: Sandford International School "They had an impressive ability to change roles and utilize everyone's unique skills." 🌟 Communication Award: Elite Academic Academy "Their ability to talk about complicated concepts and strategize under pressure was inspiring." 💡 Critical Thinking Award: Hazelwood Prep School "They showed exceptional thinking skills, solving tricky paths with intelligent plans." #ProblemSolvingOlympiad #PowerSkills #EdTech

The Battle of wits begins Sophia High School Today I introduced our new team, Sophia High Legacy, and tomorrow we compete. I’m excited our orimary kiddos will be taking part in NXTLVL Problem-Solving Olympiad, kicking off on October 17th. We'll be taking on schools from around the world in virtual team-based challenges. 🧠 There's awards for Power Skills like creativity, critical thinking, resilience, collaboration, and emotional intelligence. We can't wait to push our skills to the max. 🚀 Tyler Wilson,our Lead for Esports and Sophia High Legacy's Coach, is feeling confident: "Our team of learners is made of a diverse mix of backgrounds and cultures, aimed to provide unique perspectives and outside the box approaches to problem solving. We believe it will give us an edge over our opponents. Throughout the last month or so, these five learners have shown themselves to be technically proficient and some of our most mature 8-11 year old learners, which makes them all excellent candidates to lead the "Sophia High Legacy" in this competition." 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄? 🎮 In 2023, the global market for video games reached $196 billion, surpassing the combined revenue from streaming video, streaming music, and global box-office receipts. But the importance of video games goes beyond just market size. Nearly 80% of 8–18-year-olds are gamers, spending around 30% of their entertainment time in video game environments. For them, gaming is more than just playing—it's an environment where they can socialize with their peers, create new content, and shop for themselves and their characters. As people become more skilled and comfortable in gaming environments, it will be interesting to see how gaming will be integrated into the business landscapes of the future. Innovative companies like Owiwi are already embedding gamification into daily business processes (e.g. recruiting), while edtech startups, like NXTLVL, are bridging gaming with education, creating platforms to train the workforce of the future.
