Motspur Park Station is now accessible for all passengers! 🚉 Working since April 2023, our rail team has transformed the station, delivering three lifts, a modern ticket office, a two-span footbridge, and a new canopy - all within a narrow island platform in a busy urban environment. The Access for All programme, supported by Network Rail in partnership with the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom and local councils, seeks to remove obstacles and provide an accessible route to and between station platforms across various stations. The completion of the project marks an important step in making rail travel easier for all passengers. Huge thanks to the travelling public for your patience and to everyone involved. Following a three-week project with our partners, we’re delighted to have transformed a car park at Sunnyside Rural Trust, a charity and social enterprise based in Hertfordshire, into an into a safer, brighter, more accessible and eco-friendly space for staff and visitors. As outlined in our Octavius business plan, we are committed to leave a sustainable and positive legacy wherever we work, helping to improve communities beyond the infrastructure we create. This year, we proudly launched the 'Leaving a Legacy Project,' a new initiative featuring a series of themed social activities throughout the year, including a transformational project. The car park refurbishment project at Sunnyside marks our first transformational project within our new initiative. We’re delighted to have been part of this important project, leaving a lasting legacy for the trust. A huge thank you to everyone from Octavius and our partners who gave up their time to volunteer throughout the project, alongside donation of materials. #SocialValue #LeavingALegacy #GivingBackToTheCommunity #BringingPeopleTogether #Sunnyside #Volunteering
The future for our Northchurch site is bright and part of this is expanding it so it can be more public facing. Doing this will open up more opportunities and further training development for our trainees. Octavius Infrastructure , who have been supporting us for eight years, recognises the value of our work and has taken the lead on the significant project of reconstructing our car park. Work commenced on October 14th and wrapped up on November 1st. During the final week, the trainees participated in completing the car park, showing a true team effort (see pictures)! An outstanding amount of time and effort was put into this project and we are so grateful for the changes that have been made to our site. Now that the car park is larger and fit for purpose, we can confidently invite people to come and enjoy our wonderful site, cafe and farm shop. This is will have an everlasting impact on us at Sunnyside. Octavius have truly left a legacy. An incredible group of people came together to make this happen and we would like to thank them all: * Everyone at Octavius for bringing their supply chain together and supporting Sunnyside in their development * Sarah O'Mahoney at Octavius for her continued support and passion for the project * Hertfordshire County Council for their ongoing support * Cllr Terry Douris for funding and support * Northchurch Parish Council and Berkhamsted Parish Council for permission to expand and for being long time supporters * Meehan for labour and machinery * LLynch for plant hire * Connect Plus for material and staff time * Fortel Group for staff time * Hertfordshire plant hire for donating materials * Watford Plant & Grab Hire for donating materials * Breedon Special Aggregates for subsidising costs of materials * Matt & Northchurch team, volunteers and trainees * Paula at Sunnyside for organising volunteers * Chris Luff MBE at Sunnyside supporting for the project #SunnysideRuralTrust #LeavingaLegacy #BringingPeopleTogether

We’re thrilled to announce the completion of our transformation project in the historic town of March! 🎉 This milestone was celebrated alongside our customer, Fenland District Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, Councillor Mrs Jan French and MP Steve Barclay The transformation of Broad Street, which began in July 2023, involved creating a new public realm area and replacing three lanes of traffic and traffic lights at the northern end of the road with two lanes in opposite directions and a mini roundabout. The revitalised area will improve traffic flow and reduce delays at all approaches to the junction. With less congestion also expected to improve air quality and enabled the layout of the town centre to be transformed into an open, social and pedestrian-friendly space, with greater flexibility for community events and entertainment. Additionally, public safety has been improved with new zebra crossings, alongside new trees, plants and planter benches for the community to enjoy. Jamie Harrison Delivery Director Highways for Octavius commented “It has been a delight to work on what can now be considered as an historic transformation for March. The success of this project is a testament to the collaboration, energy and professionalism by the many people, organisations and interest groups who have participated. At Octavius we always strive to leave a positive legacy within the communities in which we work. On this occasion this feels extra special noting Cllr Steve Court hopes that this solution for March could potentially become a demonstration model for others seeking to rebuild the social and economic wellbeing of their town centre and high street communities.” We would like to thank the travelling public and the March community for their patience whilst we completed this important project. https://lnkd.in/egv8FdBF #March #BroadStreet #Regeneration #InfrastructureImprovements #Highways #SocialValue #Community #PublicRealm #Roundabout #TraffImprovements #BringingPeopleTogether Nicola Weymouth Jon Millar

💡 Ever wondered how you can speed up concrete construction without compromising quality? At Octavius, we’re taking concrete monitoring to the next level by tracking real-time data at the core of poured structures. We know that traditional cube crush tests, can have a long curing time for large structures. So, we put concrete monitoring to the test, saving up to five days on formwork removal across several of our projects. Read more about how we're realising programme and cost efficiencies. 👇 #InnovationInConstruction #OctaviusProjects #ConcreteMonitoring #ConstructionEfficiency #BringingPeopleTogether #Efficencies #Infrastructure #ExceptionalValue #Quality #Curing #Formwork #CivilEngineering Greg Wall Henry Paveley

We've transformed a high-risk collision blackspot in Somerset, improving road safety and helping to save lives. 🚧 🚦 Our Regional Civil Engineering team have successfully realigned the former B3135/B3134 intersection, constructed a new stretch of road with new signage and a new 40mph speed limit for Somerset Council, which will help ensure collisions are radically reduced in the future. Ben Race, ORCE Lead Commercial Manager, commented “Miner's Arms was the first project awarded to Octavius through the New Assets Framework by Somerset County Council, and we are immensely proud that we have successfully completed this essential project to the delight of our customer, Somerset Council. The improvements we’ve made will significantly enhance long-term public safety and ultimately save lives. Completing a project in such a notorious safety blackspot required meticulous planning and execution. Throughout the six months of work, there was not a single traffic incident, thanks to the careful traffic management systems we implemented. Now, with the new staggered crossing in place, this junction will have a profound and lasting impact on road safety for all users. The project also presented unique challenges. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, traditional street lighting couldn’t be used. Additionally, we ensured that all original materials from the traditional dry-stone walls surrounding the crossroads were reused in the new design, preserving the area’s character." We would like to thank the travelling public and Somerset community for their patience whilst we complete this important project. 📢 Exciting news! We have been awarded the design and build scheme to replace the life expired bridge structure carrying the Winterstoke Road over the London to Exeter mainline railway for North Somerset Council. The project was procured through the Pagabo Civils and Infrastructure Framework. Octavius Delivery Director for Highways Chris Hudson commented “This is a very interesting project as we will be replacing a bridge that was originally built by the Ministry of Defence in 1943. The route over the bridge provides access to industrial and residential areas to and from the Weston-Super-Mare town centre. The existing structure also incorporates several statutory authority services that all need to be carefully protected so as supplies are maintained fully during the works. The design development phase has already begun, the replacement will be meticulously planned, and we will adopt methodologies that ensure we minimise disruption to businesses and the local community."
