The education led initiative highlights the value for young people starting their careers, or employees looking to retrain in a new field. Apprenticeships offer the unique opportunity to earn while learning new skills and studying a job-related subject. Investing in a skilled workforce is a key priority for OEG, where opportunities across technical and business-focused disciplines offer motivated individuals the chance to build rewarding careers. The energy that they bring can make real and immediate impact as they work hands-on alongside experienced mentors, gaining valuable knowledge and practical application of skills to manage and overcome challenges. This group of young people spent a day with the OEG team in Liverpool for an introduction to our business and some of the work we do in the #subsea environment. OEG and its rapid-charging eCharge unit supported the Norwegian Automobile Federation's recent winter EV range trial, billed as "𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱'𝘀 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗘𝗩 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁." With a rapid-charger unit housed inside our custom-built battery storage container, the eCharge unit provided a robust lightweight mobile power solution ideal for remote and off-grid locations. Under the expert guidance of OEG’s Kjell Jarle Angeltveit, the mobile solution delivered excellent performance despite the freezing conditions. It provided a stable 134kW charge that quickly revitalised exhausted car batteries, accelerating the recharging process for participating EVs. The rapid refills brought test cars back to drivable condition in record time, helping them to get back down the mountain. From NAF: “That's why we were just as happy to bring our own rapid charging station, in the form of a mobile 160kWh battery from OEG, which is built from reused Tesla batteries. Community heroes in action 💪 We are incredibly #proud of our OEG Asia Pacific team for stepping up during the recent monsoon season, to support flood-affected families in Thailand's Chingkho District Village. Working in collaboration with local officials, our Thailand-based team helped to provide essential aid for over 300 households, packing and delivering hampers door to door to help alleviate the most immediate challenges. The team’s efforts exemplify the true spirit of OEG, highlighting the value of caring about our communities and demonstrating how unity can strengthen trust and give people the resilience to overcome adversity.
