Our main ambition is to create a sustainable talent pipeline and increase employment and training opportunities in the construction sector for both local people and those living and working throughout London and the South East. We were joined by OHOB Training Academy to deliver #supportandguidance for our students surrounding the different #careerpathways available for when they leave #education. A small group of our Year 13 students, who had previously completed #workexperience with OHOB in February 2024, re-introduced themselves, discussing their placements and sharing their interest within the company and the industry. It was a pleasure to see students so keen to #engage and #network with the employers and take their decisions to their #nextsteps seriously. This year, we also granted the opportunity for parents to attend our Careers Fair to gain information surrounding #apprenticeships, the routes available for students and to ask any questions they had surrounding these topics. We'd like to thank O'Halloran & O'Brien representatives for attending and contributing to such a successful event. O'Halloran & O'Brien have been awarded the Regional Health and Safety Award from Barratt Developments in Kent. It means we have the highest standard of Health & Safety from all the contractors that engaged on their sites this year. The award has a two-tier process: - The Health & Safety Report scores carried out by the BDW H&S Managers throughout the year are reviewed. - The BDW Project Managers are issued a Contractor Review Questionnaire which they must complete for each Contractor engaged. The Senior Managers of the Business then name the winning Contractor. We would like to thank Barratt Developments for this award. It means a lot! Congratulations to our latest cohort of learners who have successfully completed our Construction Skills Bootcamp at our Kidbrooke Park Project 👷 Together with O'Halloran & O'Brien and Greenwich Borough Council, our camp provided learners with hands-on experience of in-demand construction skills including groundworks, site engineering, steel fixing, and frame construction. This work is part of an ongoing Skills Bootcamp model we're delivering in partnership with Greater London Authority, which provides quick pathways into employment, especially for those facing barriers. Success relies on quality programme design and delivery, which is why we've collaborated with O'Halloran & O'Brien and GLA, combining our expertise to offer tailored training spaces, job opportunities, and a deep understanding of community needs.
