Some updates from Mistral AI: 1. We recently released Pixtral Large - a 124B multimodal model. Pixtral Large closes the gap with frontier models, outperforming models like GPT-4o (August) on the LMSys Leaderboard. https://lnkd.in/edzbqjie 2. Wonderful news for Oxford. William Hague, former UK foreign secretary and deputy prime minister, among much else, will serve as our next chancellor. In a world facing enormous difficulties, we're fortunate to have William's support in bringing the University of Oxford's voice and experience to resolving those challenges. As William says, "What happens at Oxford in the next decade is critical to the success of the UK." Our alumni have, for the first time, played a material role in electing our chancellor and appear to have been decisive in the final choice. We should expand their role the next time around and aspire to have most of our over 250,000 alumni actively involved. We also owe enormous thanks to the other senior candidates who've been a part of this process. Oxford would have been lucky to have been served by any of them. We're all looking forward to supporting and working with William to engage our alumni in Oxford's mission.

We’re excited and honored to be able to host this important event at this storied location with European Space Agency - ESA and University of Oxford. Rhodes house is not just any venue; it’s a place that has nurtured leaders and visionaries through the Rhodes Scholarship, the world’s oldest - fostering individuals who continue to drive positive impact across various sectors, from politics to science at the highest level. As such we’re aspiring to align with the ideals of global awareness, multi-perspective understanding, and shaping a better future.  Now it’s our turn! On Thursday we’ll be collectively exploring how the fusion of cutting-edge space technology and interdisciplinary AI research can better prepare us for the decades to come.
