  • We would like to wish all you members and friends of Crossroads Care a happy and peaceful festive season. Our offices have reduced opening hours over the bank holidays, but our services will be operating as usual. A special thank you to all our caring staff who continue to deliver care throughout. We hope everyone manages to spend some time with family and friends too. If the offices are closed and you need us, contact our usual out of hours mobiles. 😊 #carers #socialcare #oxford #oxfordshire #rbwm #newbury #youngcarers Carers Trust

  • Are you a 24 hour unpaid carer in Windsor and Maidenhead? Could you do with a little me time? Would you like a few hours to get things done? We can provide you with a FREE Personalised Carers Break through our Early Intervention Service. We provide a care worker for a few hours during the day to give you a break. This is intended as just a little “me-time” to rest, play or get things done. How would you use the time? We think we will be able to support around 56 carers and deliver around 1500 hours of care over the year. Simply call 07833 449 031 and speak to Jazz or Vicky, or email care@oxfordshirecrossroads.org.uk #socialcare #unpaidcarers #carers Carers Trust #frimleyhealth #windsorandmaidenheadcouncil

  • "Love Is Enough" was co-created by six young carers and former young carers with Bath Philharmonia’s Creative Learning Team as a tribute to the caring responsibilities of young carers and the bond they share with the people they care for. Proceeds from downloads and streams will support the Carers Trust and Bath Philharmonia's life-changing work with young carers. Are you a carer friendly employer? 2 in 3 of us will become an unpaid carer at some point in our lifetime. An unpaid carer supports a family member or friend who cannot manage without their carer’s help. For example an individual may care for: ·     A newborn with a physical disability or long-term health condition ·     A child with an acquired illness, or learning disability ·     A partner with a physical illness, mental ill health or struggling with an addiction ·     Or as we get older a partner with failing physical and/or mental health. These are just some of the reasons a person may spend all of their time outside of work, providing unpaid care to a loved one. This in itself can lead to poor physical, emotional and mental health for the carer themselves. Which in turn could put the child or adult they look after at risk too. There may well be unpaid carers in your employment – juggling work with a caring role which can be mentally and physical exhausting.   Today is #CarersRightsDay so the BEST day to consider signing up to our ‘Employer’s Charter for Working Carers’ Our Charter is simply to: ·      Spread awareness of carers across all levels of the organisation and work to remove any stigma which may be associated with the role ·      Ensure all line managers are familiar with carers’ legal rights at work and all internal policies and/or resources which may benefit them ·      Provide appropriate support, in line with carers individual circumstances and needs ·      Not make assumptions about capability based on personal caring responsibilities ·      Where possible, incorporate a flexible approach to job design and workload management ·      Encourage equality and diversity in our workforce by demonstrating a positive attitude to job applicants with caring responsibilities ·      Provide signposting to information and organisations providing support and guidance for Carers in the workforce To sign up and for more information please get in touch and ask for Lizzy 😊 Carers Trust

  • Crossroads Care Oxfordshire has been honoured with an Oxfordshire Care Award. Chief Executive Mary Rainford was presented the award for her dedication to care in #Oxfordshire and beyond for over 40 years. She insists that the award is for the whole of Crossroads as it is a team effort. Mary says to all Crossroads staff and volunteers: “A huge congratulations – Crossroads has won a Special Recognition Award from Adult Social Care Awards 2024, for exceptional services given to clients and their families. They named quite a few examples, every single one I recognised, and it was all down to you as a team making things happen. Without you all there would be no Crossroads.  I am so proud of every single one of you and thank you for your dedication and compassion, for the work we do. It was totally unexpected. I had no idea it was being presented to me today at a meeting. (I would have dressed smartly!!) but was proud to accept it.” The Oxfordshire Care Awards recognises and celebrates individuals, organisations and companies, who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within the care sector in Oxfordshire. The partners are Action for Carers Oxfordshire , Age UK Oxfordshire , Oxfordshire Association of Care Providers and @oxfordshirecc working together at the heart of these local Awards. Eddie McDowall, Chief Executive of the Oxfordshire Association of Care Providers presented the award at a quarterly OACP meeting, “It was my immense pleasure to award Mary a Special Recognition Award as part of the Oxfordshire Care Awards 2024 to recognise her achievements in adult social care over many years. Mary typifies the selfless service that often goes unnoticed, and such is Mary’s impact that we created a new award especially for her this year. To be able to present her with the Award in front of her peers was a terrific opportunity for colleagues across Oxfordshire to express their recognition too. Mary was nominated by a client of Crossroads who has benefited from the service for many years and wishes to remain anonymous. 👏😊 #carers #socialcare #UnpaidCarer #youngcarer Carers Trust Carers Oxfordshire Oxfordshire Association of Care Providers (OACP) Age UK

  • Our goal is for you and your family to live well at home. This photo was taken by a family carer who got away to see family while Crossroads provided 24 hours care at home so they did not have to worry about their loved one. If you or someone you know is struggling to manage with their daily lives, why not call us to discuss options for care support. We only provide carefully vetted, qualified care staff to meet the varied needs of individual families. No two families are the same and no two people have identical care needs. That is why we always begin the process by listening to you and your family carers so we understand what is important to you in your life. Our staff can be trained to individual requirements. We have hundreds of staff available, each one training and gaining experience within different areas. We have specialists in caring for children, caring for people living with dementia, caring for the elderly, caring for people with spinal injuries and many more. Why not call us to have an informal chat about how we can help?
