  • The year 2025 is set to bring significant advancements in cloud storage, liquid cooling, and data centre technologies, mostly thanks to rapid AI adoption. As a cloud provider, we thought to highlight key predictions shaping these sectors: ➡️ Cloud Storage 👉 Even Greater Adoption Businesses are expected to continue migrating to cloud storage solutions, driven by the volume of data produced and the need for scalable and flexible data management. This shift is anticipated to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. 👉 Data Sovereignty and Security With ongoing concerns over data privacy and the new US presidency, there will be an increased focus on data sovereignty. Enhanced security measures will be crucial to combat increased cyberattacks, including ransomware. ➡️ Liquid Cooling 👉 Mainstream Integration As high-performance computing and AI demand greater power densities, traditional air cooling methods are becoming insufficient. Liquid cooling technologies, including single-phase direct-to-chip and two-phase immersion cooling, are expected to become de facto mainstream in data centres. This integration will improve energy efficiency and support higher computational loads. (https://bit.ly/4j7oGn5) 👉 Market Growth The global data centre liquid cooling market is projected to grow from $4.9 billion in 2024 to $21.3 billion by 2030, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27.6%. In the US, the market is anticipated to exhibit a CAGR of 17.1% from 2025 through 2033. (https://bit.ly/4j7oGn5) ➡️ Data Centers 👉 Huge Investments Tech giants are making substantial investments in data centre infrastructure to meet the escalating demands of AI and cloud services. For instance, Microsoft plans to invest approximately $80 billion in fiscal 2025 to develop AI-enabled data centres, with over half allocated to the United States. (https://reut.rs/42fryYO) 👉 Energy Consumption and Sustainability Data centres currently account for about 3% of global electricity consumption, with predictions indicating a rise to potentially 10% by 2030. This surge underscores the need for sustainable practices, including the adoption of renewable energy sources and efficient cooling solutions, to mitigate environmental impact. (https://bit.ly/4gKjQdK) 👉 Design Evolution The integration of liquid cooling is prompting a redesign of data centre architectures. Future facilities may feature factory-integrated liquid cooling systems, enhancing manufacturing efficiency, accelerating deployment, reducing equipment footprint, and increasing energy efficiency. (https://bit.ly/3PuC8nj) In summary, 2025 is set to be a transformative year for cloud storage, liquid cooling, and data centres, marked by technological innovations, significant investments, and a strong emphasis on sustainability. #cloud #cloudstorage #s3 #liquidcooling #immersioncooling #datacenters

  • The rapid growth of AI #computing brings incredible innovations but also intense demands on #datacentres. As AI workloads increase, so does the need for #power, #water, and other resources. Is there a #technology to support this? Absolutely -  liquid immersion cooling. We’re talking about full immersion rather than DTC or other variations of individual component cooling. Why? Because liquid cooling provides significantly higher capabilities compared to other cooling methods. The direct contact between the hardware and the fluid enables better heat transfer, resulting in lower operating temperatures and reduced risk of overheating across all modules. Additionally, this technique is exceptionally effective for densely packed electronic components. The fluid surrounds every nook and cranny, reaching areas that air cannot easily access, ensuring uniformity across the entire system. ➡️ Increased power rack density Rack density denotes the amount of power that the components within a server rack consume. Recent surveys show that rack power density has been rising, with densities of 30 kW being a reality; industry prediction also foresees a meteoric rise expected in the future. Liquid #immersioncooling reduces the data centre’s environmental footprint by approx. 70% compared to other methods, such as traditional air cooling. ➡️ Decreasing power consumption Liquid immersion cooling helps in reducing energy use by more than 40% compared to the traditional methods. ➡️ Reduction in water use A switch to liquid immersion cooling (particularly single-phase immersion cooling) not only leads to a reduction in energy consumption but also sees a huge reduction in the use of other resources, such as water. Reduction of water use leads to lower operating costs and reduces incidences and risks of short circuits and outages. At PeaSoup.Cloud, we were the early adopters of liquid immersion cooling technology that allowed us to deliver top-tier AI-ready #cloudservices while reducing carbon footprints. Immersion cooling can handle extremely high power densities, making it ideal for AI and other compute-heavy tasks. Whether training massive ML models or running complex inferencing tasks, PeaSoup's immersion-cooled cloud is optimised for: ✅ High performance – high power densities allow for compute-heavy tasks ✅ Energy efficiency - minimal power loss with no reliance on fans ✅ Enhanced reliability - ideal for intensive, long-running AI/ML workloads ✅ Environmental impact - supporting net-zero goals by cutting emissions PeaSoup is the only #cloudprovider in the #UK using liquid immersion technology for cloud infrastructure and S3-compatible storage, ensuring the longevity and security of critical data in high-performance environments. If you're looking for cloud infrastructure that supports AI and ML without compromising sustainability, give us a shout!
