Today, our technology team initiated coverage of Cerillion Technologies. A majority founder-CEO owned Telco BSS/OSS software company, Cerillion is starting to gather big deal momentum by winning against behemoths like Amdocs. Over the last 4 years, it has delivered a revenue CAGR of 20%, >40% EBITDA margin, and >40% return on invested capital. You’ll be hard-pressed to find better metrics from a vertical software company this side of the Atlantic. As Telcos seek growth via new opportunities (e.g. APIs) and value-unlock via delayering (e.g. separating the services organisation from the infrastructure organisation), we think the market moves more towards Cerillion’s offer of a configurable end-to-end software solution rather than services-heavy customised software that is currently incumbent. Last week, James Schofield, Peel Hunt’s Director of Operations, spoke at the UK Accelerated Settlement Taskforce industry event. Participants received key recommendations from the AST's Implementation Plan and insights from HM Treasury, the Bank of England, and the FCA. Firms, including James Schofield from Peel Hunt, shared their T+1 transition experiences and how they were preparing for future changes. The event emphasised the urgency for firms to prepare for T+1, with the FCA warning they will check readiness and intervene where necessary.

Ensuring that capital markets operate efficiently and that companies are encouraged to list and expand in the UK is crucial. Charles Hall appeared on The Bottom Line with Evan Davis, Julia Hoggett, CEO of the London Stock Exchange, and Conor Lawlor, MD of UK Finance. They engaged in a detailed discussion about revitalising the London market by reforming pensions, ISAs, and stamp duty. This should be a top priority for a government focused on growth.
