We run employability programmes, facilitate adult education training courses to enable people to move into work, as well as being the largest independent provider of prison education in the UK. We operate in 22 prisons to deliver high quality education services, helping prisoners to develop the skills they need to access work on release. We champion the recruitment of people from disadvantaged backgrounds, supporting and enabling them to bring out the best of their ability. We can also offer employers an extensive suite of e-learning courses, a selections of wellbeing programmes, Bid Consultancy, Partner and Social Value Services.

Hands up who's going to the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA)Conference on Wednesday? We are - and we can't wait! Laura Savage our Director of Partner & Social Value Services is holding a breakout session - The 'S' in ESG - which explores what Social Value is, and its importance to employers and stakeholders. She will be discussing the challenges and opportunities in measuring Social Value, delving into the “Why, How, and What” of the Golden Circle, and examining the role this sector plays. Sounds pretty good, right? If you're going, we'd love to see you there - drop Laura a message and let her know you'll be there! We are also really excited to have two of our team nominated for awards in the evening David Mathew and Darren Mellford, along with our company nomination for the 'Adding Social Value' category. Good luck to all the finalists - see you there! https://lnkd.in/egxx8wPW #socialvalue #SRAG #ERSA2024

Hosted at Lidl GB HQ, today’s #SRAG Q4 summit brought together thought leaders, change-makers, and advocates for social recruitment, all united by the shared goal of creating opportunities for everyone. Key topics included: Hosts Lidl GB kicking off with Momena C. focusing on their journey of socially responsible recruitment, Darren B. shared how Timpson Group lead the way in employing ex-offenders, with 12% of their workforce coming from this group, supported by prison training academies, ROTL and New Futures Network Christy Acton from Standing Tall highlighted their approach to reducing homelessness by combining job opportunities with secure host housing, helping 80% of people stay in work after a year. 55/Redefined's Simon Long discussed the need to focus on skills and motivation rather than age, given the growing proportion of over-50s in the workplace. Jonny Gifford from the Institute for Employment Studies shared an insightful presentation and research into social class. Our panel discussion featuring Laura Davis, James Clark-Allan FIEP, John Chapman and Craig Elliot addressed challenges like economic inactivity and skills shortages, and explored ways businesses can engage with local and national initiatives. Attendees were asked to also bring a toy with them to donate to Lidl's Christmas toy appeal for Neighbourly. Thank you to everyone who attended, spoke, contributed and donated and to our fabulous chair Anne Milton , let’s keep the momentum going! What was your top takeaway from the summit?

The Money and Pensions Service Talk Money Week 2024 ran from 4th to 8th November. Though Talk Money Week, championed by local Citizens Advice services and many others, was tailored for the individual, the parallels for business and the economy got us thinking. Can planning to recruit, retain and develop more people via socially responsible, inclusive recruitment practices reduce the impact of financial uncertainty for everyone? #SocialValue #SocialRecruitment #SocialMobility #FinancialUncertainty #GoodWork #SocialRecruitmentAdvocacyGroup #PeoplePlus #SocialRecruitmentFramework #SRF #SocialRecruitmentCovenant #TalkMoneyWeek2024 #TalkingPositiveImpact #TheBottomLine #SRAG
