Great progress to date on our major track renewal between Connolly and Pearse, the busiest section of our rail network with up to 100,000 train movements annually. Works started on St Stephen’s Day morning and are continuing around the clock until 04:00hrs on 6th January, the quitest time of the year for commuter services. Here, Liam Hickey and Gary Donohoe detail what is entailed in the works. NO BIND WITH CDE👷🪨💦🇬🇧: Peter Fitzpatrick Ltd, a family-owned quarrying and contracting company based in County Down, Northern Ireland, has been a key player in the quarry and asphalt industry for over fifty years. From its modest beginnings in the early 20th century, the company has grown into a dynamic business serving a broad customer base across various sectors. Recently, Peter Fitzpatrick Ltd collaborated and invested with CDE Group to implement a cutting-edge wash plant to address the growing issue of excess crushed rock fines (CRF) and blinding from their greywacke processing operations. CDE proposed a comprehensive solution to address the challenges faced by Peter Fitzpatrick Ltd. The 130tph solution centred around the installation of a new washing plant that included the M2500 modular washing plant, the EvoWash sand washing system, and the AquaCycle thickener. This combination of equipment was designed to process the excess CRF and blinding material, transforming it into high-quality manufactured sand and other aggregates. We recently visited our customer, Peter Fitzpatrick Ltd , a quarrying and contracting company based in Co. Down, Northern Ireland, to see it's 130tph wash plant for processing quarry waste. The new plant will wash by-products of the existing operation in the form of crushed rock fines and blinding. With the ever-increasing pressure on natural sand reserves this washing process has become increasingly necessary.
