✨ Peter McCormack & Sons Limited Wins the prestigious Subsea/Offshore Pipeline Technology Award 2024 ✨
We are proud to have won the Subsea/Offshore Pipeline Technology Award 2024 for our highly challenging outfall project in Exmouth, UK, completed for Galliford Try and South West Water. The project involved forward reaming over 800 meters for a 48-inch to install a 900 mm PE pipe—an unprecedented achievement in the UK. This was accomplished using our 500-ton American Augers drill rig, the largest in the UK.
Given the project's location inside the UK’s largest holiday park, construction had to occur during the off-peak season. With limited marine support available at this time of year, we opted for the pipe push method. Despite a challenging pipe stringing area, we successfully pre-welded and pushed a single string of 800 meters into the bore.
The Subsea/Offshore Pipeline Technology Award, introduced in 1993 by The Pipeline Industries Guild is awarded annually for the most significant contribution to subsea pipeline technology. The objective is to promote the development of new ideas in this field. We couldn’t be happier getting this acknowledgement.
