Meet PfBIO Team. This week, we introduce Professor Jake Malone. Jake is a scientific co-founder of PfBIO and a tenured group leader at the John Innes Centre, where his research group combines molecular microbiology, biochemistry, and advanced systems biology to explore microbe-plant interactions. His deep expertise in biocontrol played a key role in launching PfBIO in April 2022 alongside two co-founders. He continues to guide and enhance the company's R&D efforts with his valuable insights and suggestions. #PfBIOTeam #SustainableAgriculture

We are pleased to announce that PfBIO has recently completed its first field trials to test promising biocontrol candidates aimed at protecting strawberry plants from fungal and fungal-like diseases. 🍓 This project was part-funded by Norfolk County Council through the Growth Through Innovation Grant Scheme, with NIAB independently conducting the trials as a contracted partner. These trials mark an important milestone in our mission to deliver sustainable, eco-friendly crop protection solutions. #susatinableagriculture #microbialsolutions #sustainablecropprotection #norfolkcountycouncil #growththroughinnovationgrantscheme #grantaward

We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the Innovate UK Launchpad: Agri-tech and food tech in Eastern England - R1 MFA. Read below for more information about our research programme.
PfBIO is one of the seven winners of the Launchpad competition in Eastern Anglia! As a company based in Norwich Research Park (NRP), we are very proud to have been awarded this grant. The project we proposed is very exciting, and we are looking forward to generating amazing results. We will work on the development of a commercial prototype product designed to naturally stimulate plant rooting and fruiting. Initially, we will focus on the berry sector, but we will also explore other valuable crops. We are always busy creating new solutions to improve agricultural practices! It has been a pleasure working at NRP, where we can benefit from the John Innes Centre facilities and diverse scientific expertise. A vibrant place for vibrant science! #innovateuk #innovateukfunded #norfolk #norwich #easternanglia #investment #sustainableagriculture #plantbiostimulation #berrysector #strawberry #planthealth #boostingyeild #connectedinnovation
