At Phoenix Court we believe that innovation is a critical driver of social and economic progress – but to be sustainable these developments must be built on inclusive growth. Being a good long term neighbour and helping people realise their potential is core to who we are. We’ve baked these values into our location and business model, through our foundation Phoenix Court Works. This month we were delighted to highlight this at our Annual Showcase. ♻️ Our visitors from local Edith Neville Primary School showed how younger generations care deeply about the future, and understand the potential of science and technology, with challenging questions for Insiya Jafferjee, CEO and co-founder of Shellworks. 🍲 Showcase attendees then enjoyed a delicious soup lunch from Cook for Good, a social enterprise tackling food poverty and social isolation in King's Cross. CEO and co-founder Karen Mattison MBE described how the organisation is addressing health and community challenges, while providing a valuable service to corporate clients. 🎭 Lunch was served at Scene & Heard, a mentoring charity empowering inner-city children in Somers Town. CEO & Artistic Director Rosalind Paul MBE talked about how local young people work with professional actors and directors to write and stage their own plays, improving literacy skills, while developing communication and social skills that help them get the most from school. 🌳 Finally, as the day drew to a close, our guests gathered in Global Generation’s Story Garden, a community garden in the heart of Somers Town, where they could reflect on a day full of inspiration. The Showcase was a terrific opportunity to underline how much we love being part of the Somers Town neighbourhood and working closely with the community to build a new model for innovation. In this New Square Mile in which we live and work, there is no better place to unlock opportunity.
