Updates

  • This year, PIP are proud to sponsor the MCA Trust, a local charity dedicated to supporting children and teenagers on their cancer journeys. In line with their mission to "Make a Difference to Children with Cancer," the MCA Trust has partnered with Lightnin Drama group based in Rainham to stage a magical Christmas panto. 🎄🎭 A special part of this production is that the children themselves will have the opportunity to perform, giving them a chance to shine on stage. PIP is honored to sponsor all the costumes for this event, which will take place this November and December at The Harris Academy. 🌟 Good luck to all involved, it will be amazing! 👏

  • Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. This year’s theme is ‘Mental Health at Work’. Every year millions of people experience mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression. These issues can affect anyone regardless of age, background, or circumstances. By promoting awareness, we can create a supportive environment where individuals feel safe to discuss their struggles. -         It is estimated that 15% of UK workers suffer from existing mental health conditions. -         875,000 workers suffered from work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2022-23. -         The 5th most common reason for days off sick is mental health. Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet it often remains misunderstood and stigmatised. By raising awareness about mental health, we can help break down the barriers that prevent individuals from seeking support. Understanding the signs of mental health issues is crucial. Recognising these signs in both ourselves and others can be the first step towards seeking help. Symptoms may include: -         Appearing withdrawn or detached. -         Persistent fatigue with no known cause. -         Unable to meet demands. -         Ignoring own health and well-being. -         Feeling overloaded and unable to cope. -         Feeling defeated, cynical or having persistent negative thoughts. Mental health education is key. By sharing information about mental health resources and helplines including counselling and support groups, we empower individuals to take action. Encouraging open conversations about mental well-being can help reduce the stigma and create a cultural acceptance. Mark Ashworth, QSHE Manager & one of PIP’s Mental Health First Aiders supports the well-being of our employees by offering confidential support where needed. #WMHD #WorkPlaceWellbeing #SupportEachOther #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma #YouAreNotAlone

  • Last week we welcomed three new apprentices - Dylan, Daniel and Archie to the PIP team. Their arrival is yet another sign of our commitment to investing in the future of both our company and the construction industry. Their growth and development are essential to our mission of nurturing new talent in the industry. Since the start of 2019, the construction industry has lost almost 300,000 workers, largely through early retirement driven by the pandemic. A further 500,000 are expected to leave the industry over the next 10 years. We require more skilled workers & apprentices to keep the industry and economy growing. We look forward to supporting Dylan, Daniel and Archie on-site and at college as they embark on their new journey and wish them all the best as they begin their careers at PIP. #Apprenticeship #ElectricalApprentice #MechanicalApprentice #Skillsforlife #Construction
