Plan A Consultants Ltd have had some excellent project wins in recent months, but this one is right up there! It has been a pleasure to support LINA GHOTMEH — ARCHITECTURE over the last 9 months to win the redevelopment of the Western Range galleries at the The British Museum. The project will be one of the largest cultural renovation projects undertaken anywhere in the world. We can’t wait to get started, and well done to the wider team – Purcell, Arup, Holmes Studio, and Ali Cherri.

Thank you University Design Forum and University of Leeds for last week’s reference visit and discussion sessions. Emily Zinselmeier especially enjoyed hearing about how academic research at the University continues to inform the Estate’s built projects, in an ongoing effort to deliver on its net zero commitments. Collaboration across the design, delivery, and operational teams is essential, and at Plan A, we understand the value in supporting architects to manage interdisciplinary teams and to negotiate complex technical & stakeholder requirements. Giving Back in 2024: A Year of Support & Engagement Last year, Plan A remained dedicated to supporting our local communities through donations, fundraising, and volunteering. With the efforts of our Partnership Group, we partnered with St Luke's Community Centre - Business Engagement. The community hub in South Islington helps drive meaningful change by improving the quality of lives for people living in the area and breaking down barriers, particularly for the most vulnerable. We contributed to 167 volunteer hours and supported seven different programmes. From Digital Support sessions to Cookery Classes and Careers Events, Plan A volunteers shared their skills and connected with incredible people. A big thank you to everyone who gave their time and resources. Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week! This week, we recognise the value of apprenticeships and the incredible impact they have on individuals and industries alike. Apprenticeships provide a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop skills, and build successful careers. At Plan A, we’re proud partners of the innovative PlanBEE (Built Environment Education) Apprenticeship programme in London. PlanBEE London is a unique higher apprenticeship programme in Design, Construction and Management delivered in partnership with the The London School of Architecture (LSA), Ryder Architecture and Gateshead College.   As the first independent Design Management consultancy, we at Plan A are passionate about sharing the benefits of Design Management as a fulfilling career.   Since joining the programme in 2023, we have welcomed 5 apprentices, providing them with a unique opportunity to explore a career in Design Management while earning a full-time salary.   By supporting apprentices, we are investing in the next generation of talent. We enjoy working alongside them - their contributions bring fresh perspectives, energy, and new ideas to our work.
