Teaming up with Leeds Beckett University, the charitable arm of the Premier League has launched a research project to capture the long-term impact of the Premier League Kicks programme. Launched in Season 2006/07, in partnership with the Metropolitan Police, Premier League Kicks is the Premier League's longest-running community programme. The National Council for Voluntary Organisations is calling on charities to co-sign an open letter calling for urgent action on the planned increase to employer National Insurance Contributions for the sector. It’s estimated the changes will cost the sector £1.4bn each year at a time when demand for services is soaring, costs are escalating, and funding is declining.
