5 years ago, Girls in Marketing was just an idea in Olivia’s brain. Olivia had always been interested in human behaviour and even studied psychology at University, where she found her love for marketing and SEO. The psychology student-to-marketer pipeline is real 🤣 Once she graduated from University, Olivia decided to find a job in SEO but struggled to truly find her tribe within the marketing industry. That’s where the idea of Girls in Marketing developed. Since then, we have developed into a community of 450,000+ marketers whilst helping thousands of marketers through our training opportunities. Today is Equal Pay Day in the UK 💸 This day is the point in the year when, on average, women effectively work for free and it's even earlier this year than last year (22nd November 2023). The gender pay gap currently sits at 11.3% compared to 10.7% last year. On average: 👉 women earn £631 less than men every month 👉 women earn £7,572 less than men per year That's not all. According to the statistics, women from the global majority and women with disabilities have been working for free for longer due to experiencing more significant pay gaps. Some of the reasons that the pay gap still exists include: 👉 women are more likely than men to take lower paid or part-time roles to balance caregiving responsibilities 👉 lack of flexible working opportunities 👉 the Motherhood Penalty Things need to change. Fawcett Society have published research on the gender pay gap and made important recommendations for the steps that need to be taken to reduce it. (You can also use their calculator to see when you effectively stop earning compared to men, based on your age, sector, and working hours.) #EqualPayDay #GenderPayGap

How do you get your customers to leave their perceptions of your brand at the door? No7 Beauty Company did just that with their recent pop up at Westfield London. Working with Heaps + Stacks | B Corp Creative Agency and The Pharm Agency, No7 created a fun and creative experience where visitors to the stand could try out the products without knowing the brand 💄 Reminiscent of a high-end luxury beauty stand with mesh panels and marble counters, the pop-up highlighted the quality of the new Pro Artist range. Split across two days, on the first day the stand remained unbranded and guests ended their visit with a brand reveal and a photo opportunity 📸 Then to gain maximum brand visibility, the stand was refreshed with No7 branding on the second day.
