Margaret from Celtic Dawn enjoys getting creative with some crafts! 🎨 Recently Margaret has been busy creating her card for the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) Christmas card competition 🎅 and attending a market stall with Service Manager Kirsty to sell Kirsty's resin jewellery. 😊💍 Kirsty said "I first got into making resin jewellery because one of our residents here, Margaret, really loves her crafts. It's always been something we've shared a passion for. ✨ We used to attend a craft club across the road from Celtic Dawn in the library once a week, but it stopped because the lady retired. We decided we would go and get a load of craft stuff and make different things together every week. 🙌 Whilst on one of our crafting hauls, Margaret picked up a resin coaster kit and we were really excited to do it, we got home and made some coasters, which fell to bits! 😂 But we had the most fun making them together. 😁 Fast forward ahead, we practiced, we got better, and 6 months later Wildflower Designs was born. I now make and sell jewelry, keyrings, vases, tea trays, and memorial ornaments. We recently had a resident pass away in one of our other houses who Margaret knew well so we worked together and made some beautiful "forget me not" keyrings for the staff. 🤗 As soon as I said, "Marg we have an order", she stuck the kettle on and rolled her sleeves up. Recently my business had its very first market stall and I took Margaret along with me, as without her this really would never have happened. The people we support at Garfield have recently enjoyed an evening of magic! 🔮 Manager Lacey said "This activity was a new experience for all and it was a big hit with everyone. 🙌 Paul and David got the chance to participate in some magic tricks which left them both amazed and baffled. 😲 Susan stated she enjoyed the experience of going out in the evening as this is not normally something she would like to do but cannot wait to go again! 😁 Well done for trying something new guys! Middleton Lodge recently had a visit from a local nurse for their annual health checks and vaccines for COVID-19 boosters and flu. 👩⚕️💉 Registered Manager Christine said "All the people we support got both injections on the same day and the nurses were very impressed with everyone and how well everyone did. 👏 I was so proud of everyone for getting both injections on the same day.
