In recognition of UK Disability History Month, today we hosted a 'Disability Confidence Training Session' for our colleagues, led by Disability Rights UK. 🤝 Did you know? 💭👇 👉 Nearly one in four of the working-age population is classed as disabled. 👉 The number of people reporting a long-term health condition and the number classed as disabled continue to rise. 👉 The increase in disability prevalence is associated with an increase in people reporting mental health conditions and “other health problems or disabilities”. 👉 Nearly one in three people classed as being disabled one year were no longer classed as being disabled the next year. Today's session with Disability Rights UK was incredibly valuable as we continue to improve the experience of colleagues living with disabilities and long-term health conditions. How does your organisation support employees living with a disability? What more should be done to remove barriers in the workplace? Let us know your thoughts below... 👇 #UKDisabilityHistoryMonth #DisabilityRights #Disability #Inclusion #SocialCare

Happy International Day of People with Disabilities! To mark the day we're handing over the reigns of our blog to Jason, one of the people we support in Greater Manchester. "I’m 35 and I have a learning disability. I also love going out, playing sports, listening to music, I’m a water boy for a local rugby group and I DJ three times a week." Read more about how Jason followed his dream to DJ at gigs, in his own words: https://bit.ly/41wYHiH #IDPwD2024
