About us

Pride in London provides a platform for every part of London’s LGBTQ+ communities (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer, questioning, intersex, non-binary, asexual, polysexual, genderqueer and gender variant people) to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow them to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. The Pride in London 2025 Parade Day will take place on Saturday, 5th July and celebrates all aspects of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride in London is organised by London LGBT Community Pride, a Community Interest Company led mainly by volunteers. As we witness yet another attempt by the US government to systematically erase communities already under attack, the removal of the Black Lives Matter mural in Washington, DC reminds us that injustice targeting vulnerable groups enables a chain of further violations, threatening the very essence of humanity. With only a couple of months left until the WorldPride celebrations in Washington, DC, this event reinforces our commitment to supporting the many LGBTQ+ individuals whose lives are shaped by intersectionality.🌈🤎🖤❤️ The Black voices and allies at Pride in London stand in solidarity with our Black siblings across the ocean - and call on our global LGBTQ+ family to join in support. 🫶🏾🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✨ Below, we reflect the words of Christopher Joell-Deshields, CEO of Pride in London, and Vice President of D&I and WorldPride Committee member at InterPride the International Association of Pride Organizers. #PrideinLondon #BlackLivesMatter #HumanRights #WorldPrideDC25 #LGBTQ+

This #InternationalWomensDay, we don’t just ask for gender equality – we #AccelerateAction. In the UK, women are still: 👎 Underrepresented in leadership, policy, and decision-making 👎 Earning, on average, 14.3% less than men 👎 Making up two-thirds of domestic abuse victims 👎 The targets of trans and non-binary rights violations in the media and politics Nothing will change unless we create the change. At Pride in London, we are committed to: 🚀 Amplifying LGBTQ+ voices by creating platforms for visibility and critical debate 🚀 Calling out anti-trans rhetoric, misogyny, and gender-based oppression – dignity is not optional 🚀 Creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ women – from Pride celebrations to year-round community events 🚀 Advocating for policy change and gender equality protections 🚀 Supporting LGBTQ+ led grassroots organisations and businesses Together, we can drive gender equality for women of all faiths, races, abilities, and gender and sexual identities. Wishing our cis and trans sisters, and GNC siblings around the world, an empowered and joyful International Women’s Day! 🌈🌹✨ #PrideInLondon #IWD2025 #LGBTQIAWomen #TransRightsAreHumanRights #GenderEquality

What an incredible weekend representing Pride in London at National Student Pride! 🌈 Our stall in the Community Marketplace was buzzing with energy as students from across the country stopped by to connect and talk to us 🗣️ Huge thanks to our dedicated Pride in London volunteers (particularly event Team Lead Pete Reavey) who made our presence such a success, and to the Student Pride team for organising this phenomenal event! Particular highlight was seeing so many community organisations coming together in one place, showing us the importance of visibility and community-building! 💪🏳️🌈 #StudentPride #PrideInLondon #LGBTQ+ #CommunityMatters #Volunteers

As we look back and celebrate the past two decades of progress in HIV awareness, prevention, and treatment for LGBT+ History Month, we also acknowledge the impact of HIV stigma in shaping the course of history. Many cases within the criminal justice system still prove the negative impact of biases against HIV-positive individuals. HIV IS NOT A CRIME! Criminalising HIV not only fuels discrimination, deterring people from testing and talking openly about HIV- it also does nothing to prevent transmission! This doesn’t only affect people living with HIV, but the entire population and public health efforts. Let’s put decades of HIV research to use, honouring the relentless efforts of trailblazers and activists who created opportunities where none existed and fought for justice. The road to equitable healthcare is still long. Let’s raise awareness and break down the barriers that still prevent people from taking care of their health. 🌈💪✨ In loving memory of all the lives lost to AIDS. ❤️ #PrideinLondon #HIVisNotACrime #HINAC #LgbtHistoryMonth #LGBTQplus

LGBTQ+ history is a legacy of activism, resilience, and community.🌈💪✨ London is home to some of the most important organisations preserving, documenting, and sharing our past – holding archives of pioneering activists, records of historic movements, and artefacts that tell of our fight for equality and our unique contributions to society. Here we share but a selection, each organisation playing a key role in keeping our history alive and contributing to the future of our community.🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✨ Get involved by visiting these spaces, exploring their archives, and supporting them however you can – whether by volunteering or donating. Our history must be preserved, and our stories told- shaping a future rooted in resilience.🌈🚀 #PrideinLondon #LgbtHistoryMonth #Activism #Equality #LGBTQplus

Love isn’t just about romance – it thrives in deep friendships, chosen family, quiet moments of solitude, and the communities we build.🌈✨ Yet, people on the aromantic spectrum face unique challenges. From the assumption that everyone seeks romantic love or that a romantic relationship is the ultimate goal, to the pressure of navigating sexual connections without romantic expectations, to a lack of validation and representation – this orientation is often misunderstood and stigmatised. But love doesn’t come with a prescription – aromantic people embrace connections on their own terms, free from societal conventions.💚🩶🤍 This Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week, we celebrate aromantic people, their uniqueness, and the potential of human connection in all its forms – because that’s what enriches our existence. #PrideinLondon #AromanticAwarenessWeek #Diversity #Visibility #LGBTQIA+

Empowering Inclusion: Bridging Gaps for Social Justice – this year’s World Day of Social Justice theme is a powerful call to action: to build a society where no one is left behind. 🌈✨ True inclusion starts with closing the gap between equality and equity. Resources must be tailored to individual needs, circumstances and backgrounds. Social justice means recognising and challenging the systems that prevent LGBTQ+ communities from accessing basic rights. Only then can we take down the barriers creating inequality in the first place. ⚖️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Let’s use this World Day of Social Justice as a moment to reaffirm our commitment to creating lasting change. Together, we can make equality and inclusion our reality.❤️ #PrideinLondon #WorldDayofSocialJustice #Equality #Inclusion #LGBTQRights

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Muhsin Hendricks in South Africa, the world’s ‘first openly gay imam’.🌈🕊️ Even in countries with legal protections, visibility can still pose a threat to LGBTQ+ lives. Hendricks’ courage and dedication to creating safe spaces for queer Muslims demonstrated the power of community in supporting individuals to live authentically and be true to their faith. We stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ Muslims in South Africa- May Muhsin’s legacy live on in our hearts as a beacon of hope for a future where visibility is possible for all individuals honouring every aspect of their identity.🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🤍 #PrideinLondon #MuhsinHendricks #visibility #LGBTQplus #queermuslims
