Did you know that the pulse oximeters are racially bias? And it is because melanin and pigment absorbs light differently making it difficult for the oximeter to read and therefore, accurately give data for darker skin. However, if there were more diverse groups participating in research studies when the oximeter was created, we could have had a different outcome to this.
