This reminds me of the panel discussion on female Design leaders I took part in at Product Design Week a few weeks ago. I think we all agreed there is no such thing as the perfect work/life balance. It's a constant juggling act of priorities and sometimes we will have to choose which ball to drop.

Indra Nooyi, a business executive and mom, doesn’t exactly believe in work-life balance, and I couldn't agree more. Work-life balance is a myth. There are only 24 hours in a day, and you can’t do it all every day. The game is finding ways to do what is most important to you on most days. You have one life with many dimensions, and you must find ways to integrate your work and your life in order to be the best worker, partner, friend, mother, and self. When I was a junior executive and mother of three little ones, I realized I had to shift some dimensions around. I made a promise to myself that I would live with no regrets. I never wanted to look back and say that I should have or could have done something differently. I realized early on in my career that no one at work would remember if I stayed late for a project, but my kids would remember if I missed something important to them. That no-regret policy became my North Star. Nooyi relies on juggling. Juggling means that for a moment, something else might be up in the air—and for us women, not only is that inevitable, but it’s OKAY! If that’s what it takes to take care of your priorities, one by one, that’s pretty impressive.

The best part of speaking isn’t the spotlight; it’s what happens afterward. Speaking at Product Design Week with Michael Thompson this year was a highlight for me. We dove into what TV user interfaces can teach us about UX, and honestly, the conversations that followed were even more exciting than the presentation itself. To me, that’s the beauty of sharing ideas—it’s not about being the expert, but about creating a space where inspiration can flow both ways. It made me wonder: how often do we focus on sharing to connect, not just to inform? #UX #SharingIdeas #SparkInspiration #SpeakingEngagements #ThoughtLeadership

🚀 Go Wobbe! 🙌

Head of Design @iwoca (ex HoD @Curve) Founder of 360 Audit

My appreciation story of Product Design Week 2024 in less than 60 seconds....🔥 I was invited to speak on Day 4 of PDW, UX Live.... about how to drive value through Data-Driven Pixels with 360 Audits. This was made possible thanks to Luke Reed and Myles McMorrow and all of the Iconic Team, who created an iconic Design Event after months of planning and careful detail on every little thing. I want to give a special shout-out to:   Michael Moran, for your beautiful chi. My wife and I loved how you elevated the event’s energy and visuals through Marketing and the human factor. Amrit S Bhachu, for holding down the Main stage and making everyone feel engaged, welcome and happy with your excellent questions and vibes. Aneta Zokaite, thank you for your kind and human level throughout the talks and for capturing the essence of Product Design Week over 5 crazy days. As well as everyone that approached me… and everyone that I met, as well as all the Design Leaders and Speakers. You all rock! I’m super happy to be part of this Design Community. Last but not least… my +1 for PDW… Valeria Simantob. Thank you for all your love and support over these months. UX/UI Designer at Nimble | Photographer at Subjekt

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending Product Design Week (days 4 & 5) in London, thanks to Nimble (formerly Bothrs). Feeling inspired to elevate tomorrow’s experiences, here are a few of many takeaways: 🚀 GenAI is transforming workflows: 92% of Fortune 500 companies use AI assistants on a daily basis. The reason? A better user experience. 🧠 GenAI is a tool, not a replacement: In fact, without human guidance, AI continues to struggle in three key areas: context, taste, and common sense. 🤝 You can’t persuade a business to prioritize users without demonstrating the benefits: Design priorities should always align with business objectives rather than being driven by UX alone. 🔎 Prioritize the real problem: Understand user behaviour first, then iterate on solutions. UX is evolving and so should our products. ⚔️ Nothing great is made alone. Such a fantastic event with brilliant speakers — Kevin Stewart, Joe Natoli, Gregor Matheson, Sophie Aldebert just to highlight a few. #ProductDesignWeek #PDW24

Product (UX/UI) Designer | Photographer | Creative Entrepreneur

This week, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at Product Design Week and it turned out to be one of the most transformative experiences of my journey so far! There were so many inspiring talks that sparked my creativity and shaped my vision of the kind of product designer I want to be. Here are a few reflections from this week: ✨Stay curious and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Curiosity is your greatest ally. ✨Be a sponge, but also pour into others. Don’t underestimate the value of your own story. Even if you’re new to a field, younger, or lack experience, your unique perspective can inspire and connect with others. Be bold share your story, and you never know what opportunities might come from it. ✨Building my personal brand: The more I conversed with attendees and shared my journey, the clearer my personal brand became. Repeating my story helped me refine and solidify my values. It’s a reminder that clarity doesn’t happen overnight. I can’t wait to share more about this soon👀 A huge thank you to the Product Design Week team for organising such a fantastic event and a special shoutout to all to the incredible designers, researchers, and writers I met who generously shared their knowledge and wisdom with me!! #PDW24
