Quillon Law has successfully represented PJSC Far-Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO) in the case of Ziyavudin Magomedov & Ors v TPG Group Holdings (SBS) LP & Ors. The High Court today handed down judgment in respect of applications by all of the active Defendants to challenge the jurisdiction of the English courts and/or to strike out the claim. FESCO succeeded on all limbs of its jurisdiction challenge and was awarded its costs on the indemnity basis. This brings to an end Mr Magomedov’s latest attempt to seek to recover substantial amounts in damages from these Defendants; the Claimants did not seek the Judge’s permission to appeal against FESCO and he refused the Claimants permission to appeal against the other Defendants. Quillon Law has successfully represented Oleg Deripaska and his company in obtaining Norwich Pharmacal relief against Quinn Emanuel, in (1) Filatona Trading Limited and (2) Oleg Deripaska v Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan UK LLP.   The High Court today handed down judgment in this case, with Calver J granting the relief on the basis that each of the conditions for a Norwich Pharmacal were satisfied, that the information sought was not privileged and that granting the relief sought was a “necessary and proportionate response to this serious wrongdoing”.    Abigail Healey, Partner at Quillon Law, representing the Deripaska Parties, commented: “Whoever was involved in creating the Glavstroy Report and providing it to the business intelligence consultancy for onward transmission to Quinn Emanuel intended to deceive the court and defraud the Deripaska Parties of c. $300 million. We are pleased that the Court has ordered Quinn Emanuel to identify the consultancy which supplied it with the forged report. This is the first step towards the Deripaska Parties vindicating their legal rights.”   Follow the link below to read more.   #CommercialLitigation #NorwichPharmacalOrders #HighCourt
